Talako (“Gray Eagle” in the Choctaw tongue) was once the son of a Choctaw elder. He was slaughtered with his tribe at the dreadful Battle of Mabila by the Spanish conquistadors, only to awake a while later, immortal. For a time he waylaid Spanish campaigns in the Piedmont hills of the Appalachian mountains, until he met Tol' Ero, a centuries old immortal who became his first teacher. Tol' Ero's peace-advocacy, testament to almost a thousand years of living with the many different tribes of North America, tempered Talako's hostility, and the lessons remain with him to this day.

In 1972, Talako bought a derelict building in the heart of the slums and turned it into a rehabilitation clinic, primarily for other Native American people struggling to make the transition to the new world springing up around them. While his aim is still for rehabilitation, Talako has expanded his clientelle to include repentant undesirables of other cultures, and adapted his approach from helping transition from traditional to European to helping to overcome the trials of social underpriviledge, primarily among the youth.

Iptacens epitomizes the Thracian philosophy of existence. She is fierce in both love and combat, a consummate artist, and a beautiful sight. Each new life she begins ends differently, with entirely new events taking place in the interim. She has been a singer, a painter, a soldier, a law enforcement officer, and even a sister in a convent... to name a few. Though she may seem delicate to many opponents, Iptacens is fearless in battle and doesn't hesitate to use her deceptive strength to deliver unexpected physical strikes.
During the 1940's, Iptacens became highly involved with the British government's security services. After 1956 she seemed to drop off the face of the earth, only reappearing a handful of times. In the past fifty years she has only taken six heads, all of whom have been political enemies of the Crown. It is assumed that she is keeping with tradition and now trying several decades as a spy.

Björn was once a ferocious warrior who fought on numerous viking campaigns both while mortal and immortal. After a few centuries, however, he tired of war and became a trader, going as far as Jerusalem on trading expeditions. During one such trip, however, his longships were attacked and it fell to the Arabs to tend to their injuries. Seeing the wonders of medicine, Björn was spurred to give up war and turn to healing. In the 19th century, he lost his wife, Amanda, to breast cancer. Since then he has devoted his centuries of medical practice toward finding a cure for cancer.

Widely regarded as the finest swordfighter in Europe after the death of Brian Cullen* in 1994 (though many argued Ælfweard's claim to the title before Cullen's death), Ælfweard's reputation has earned him much unwanted attention in the form of headhunting immortals. Consequently, he is relatively paranoid and tends to avoid confrontation in spite of being extremely confident in his own abilities. His palatial home just outside London is more secure than most government agency headquarters, funded by his many investments around the world. During the 19th century he (or, rather, his great-great-great-great-great-great-grandfather, as the world believes) was one of the richest men in England with a net worth of over a million pounds thanks to his investments in the African gold mining industry. Ælfweard has been every member in the Gray dynasty for the past two hundred years, from the original Baldwin Gray to the current (and ninth) persona, Damien Gray.
