Ok so basically was baptisted as a catholic and went on until i was about 15 beliveing all of that, and then igave up, I was an athiest until about a year ago or so. I read somethign about wicca that caught my attention. Well accually I read a few things. First was If it harms none, then do as you will. I love that, As long as im not harmng anyone im aloud to do whatever i want. then the fact that everyone is accepted, White, black, asian, straight, gay, bi, whatever. I have always had problems with catholics cause they are hypocritical. The bible says god isthe onlyone who can judge, yet, gays are bad people, I have many gay friends and they are not bad people just because of what some people say, I just found it funny how priests are the ones molesting alterboys and whatnot, yet its my gay friends who are the bad people. Then another thing is you can be forgiven fr anything, I have ALWAY saw that as setting up for failure. So basically someone can live a life of crime and whatnot, yet as long as they ask for forgivness its all good, yet my mom is not aloud to go to church becuase she had a devorce. what the fuck ever.

So anyways, I am basically trying to learnalot about wicca before I really devote myself to it, I just am not sure I understand everything, What I understand is there aremany gods and godesses but i dont know how many, I was underthe impression that there was one of each for fire, earth, water, wind and spirit. right? then there is praying orworshiping, i am not completly sure i get it. And there is Magik....well basically if you know about wicca please send me a message on here, myspace or cherrytap. I also have yahoo and hotmail....so anyways please let me know...thanks

I can honestly say without a doubt that your problem was that you were raised Catholic.

Also, you seem to be rejecting your past beliefs because you feel that they don't allow you to do things you want?

Also, it is true that the Bible says that only God can judge...it also says that people cannot judge others without first making sure that they have looked at themselves, and made sure they are without sins....then to top it off it says that none are without sin in the world...Meaning that no one can judge anyone else. Also, gays aren't bad people. god does not hate them. I do not know where you guys get this misconception from...read the God hates fags thread where this has already been discussed. *Said in a non-derogatory manner*

Also the thing with your mom, welcome to the uber complicated/anti-biblical based world of Catholicism. You are not forgiven for your sins if you were to do that. To be forgiven for your sins you must turn away from your sin and ask forgiveness. (Another misconception of Christianity) I dont know about Catholicism though, my friends were talking about Communion and stuff and saints and I was like (Its all greek to me)

I find Wiccan to have many misconceptions... It ties in with greak mythology five Points of the pentagram for the elements of the 5 titans Zuse banished under the great sea. Are you talkin Wiccan Aeromeic or Wiccan of the English word? they are both simular but the English translation loses properties that the Aeromeic translates to almost follow the Greek myths... What makes Either of them true is the belief... The huge differece I noticed was the fact Aeromeic is Old Latin the lost language, for the Elements all you have to do is look up the words in basic Latin... Sorta the same latin Cathlic priest used in Europe in the 17 hundreds... or somethin like that. My friends girls is heavily in to Wiccan... I have just told her not to aknowledge the elements as Gods but as a force for the Gods to control...
The Wiccan religion is not somethin to empower a person but it is used to supposivly guide the person... almost the same as any other religion...

The main rule that is only thing we all share in common is ever mind the rule of three, what you send out will come back to thee. i really try to keep it in mind but sometimes it's hard. you're in for a lot of reading. and this is several years done the line to say i'm wiccan. like i said pm me and i'll give you some more information.

Silver has several books. she also has a fictional seris going for teens however that shouldn't stop you from reading them. she also has a reading list and other authors that are good too. i have alot but it isn't all out yet. however if you need it then i will be more then happier to go dig it out.

I agree that the best way to get yourself started is to go for Silver Ravenwolf's Teen Witch. She explains things is a very straightforward way, and I recommend it to interested people whether they're teens or not.

The Gods and Goddesses are part of pantheons, or groups/systems. Usually, people pick the pantheon that they relate the best to and go from there. So if you really like Egyptian gods, you don't have to worry about ignoring Athena or something like that.

The elements are connected but there isn't a God or Goddess for each one. There are guardians for each. Again, something you could learn more about from Silver.

There are still holidays to observe and devotionals or prayers. And as for magick...I think of it like "praying with props". Because you ask for something, and then you release energy to help it can happen. And usually that involves some materials.

Ok well I guess it is all on how you look at it. I am a wiccan that believes there is a deeper meaning to life. I believe that it is all on how you practice it. SOme claim to be Satanic wiccans while others say the are the White light of Wiccan society. There is no black and white side to magic, it is all on how you use it.

The Pianist is correct, but I will say that Roman Catholicism isn't necessarily bad. There are definitely faults, and people within the RC church are more inclined to behave in ways that counter Biblical teachings, but I don't want to write it off as entirely evil.

Also, let's respect one another and not insult each other in any capacity, ok? You can't advocate peace, or the ideal of not harming anyone, and then resort to insults to quickly discredit someone. That is counter-doctrinal behavior.
