Occult dablers

NachtEngel is offline
This is a topic I thought may be good for those of us who do not practice main stream religions or beliefs so we could pick each other out. If you practice anything that is misunderstood post it here and let us know who the fellow occult dabblers are. By non-mainstream I mean everything down the line be it Wicca, Demonoltry, Sorcery, Satanism, Voodoo, Vampirism, Lycanthropy, and the list goes on.

I myself don't throw myself into a category but study all aspects of belief to gain knowledge and self awareness. My divinations/occult practices to list would be Necromancy, Demonancy, Astral Projection, Tarot Reading, and Scrying

The things I posted as my practices are not so much religions but occult studies in general that can be practiced without a religion I will define my practices.

(Necromancy) This is the conjuring of the deceased spirits to gain enlightenment and knowledge.

(Demonancy) Conjuring of demons for much the same purpose as Necromancy.

(Astral Projection) Projecting the soul out of the physical body and entering the astral world. This is accomplished through many means such as meditation, and lucid dreaming.

(Tarot Reading) A form of fortune telling typically done with a standard deck of 78 cards of which 22 are arcana cards. Each card has a specific image that has some form of symbolism that is used in the reading.

(Scrying) This is a practice where you use a reflective item like a black mirror or crystal ball. It is used to gaze in to the past, the present, or what may come to be. Also the art of scrying can be used to speak to spirits through the reflecting item.

As for the religions I listed it would take all day to explain because I read all the time, have exparimented with most of them, and would be writing a book if I tried, lol. To break it down simply as I can I will give the following definitions.

(Wicca) The worship of certain Gods and godessess and practice of magick. True Wicca is not "black magick" and follows its own set of rules. It is the worship of nature and all of creation.

(Lycanthropy) The belief in having the spirit of the wolf. Very much related to many native American beliefs. modern Lycanthropy is somewhat of a underground/secretive practice so I wont get to into it.

(Demonoltry) The worship of demons for spiritual gain.

(Sorcery) A great number of sorcerers practice black magick but not all. Many are into evoking/invoking the demonic spirits for negative purposes though some do it just to gain knowledge. Anything involving the summoning of demons is considered black magick therefore is called sorcery. The darker sorcerers though practice all forms of black magick.

(Voodoo) This one I have not studied so much but I know the obvious points they use a doll to work magick. Many think it is a dark art but voodoo actually is more often used for healing you are not actually supposed to poke a doll that represents a person with needles that is black magick.

(Satanism) Now believe it or not this is not always the worship of the devil as Christians know him. The worship of the devil is more often called Luciferism. Satanism was more of a retaliation against Christianity which is where the name comes from. This was founded by Anthony Levi and is based more on the idea that man is no better than an animal and to worship ones self.

(Luciferism) This is self explanatory it is the worship of Lucifer the fallen angel. Allot can be learned on this religion through basic demonology. Hell is a heiarchy always at war unlike heaven where there is God, Angels, Arch angels and servants. At the present time hell is commanded by Satan(demon) the king of hell, Lucifer (Gods Fallen), Leviathan (demon the lord of gluttony), Belial (Demon and lord of decite) mind you the heiarchy changes so I may be inaccurate in one of the names because the mortal realm cant keep up with it that well obviously.

(Vampirism) This is the one I know the most about because im deeply involved in it but again many aspects of it are secretive. To break it down its not what you would think of it has hardly anything to do with your typical Hollywood vampire. This is a very misunderstood practice based on the idea that they are born with a unbalance of energy that must be taken from a human. now I must enforce they do not take it from unwilling people and are moral. They would not kill for it and they follow strict rules about how to behave otherwise they are banished from acknowledgment by fellow practitioners. If you want to know about vampirism I recommend

It will tell you everything you want to know that you will be able to find out without being involved in it.

I was under the impression that Luciferism was much like satanism invovled and intertwined with Christianity and many other things. It combined elements from Asian, Babylonian, Egyption, Greek, and Syrian pagan relgions as well as Christianity and Judism. They worked within the confounds of the mainline religions. This is just the originality of it, I'm not sure what it has been shaped into today?

Thank you for pointing that out, Luciferism and Satanism can be hard to deffine in a general catagory. The majority of people I see practiceing Satanism today fit into the catagory I described as those following Anthony Levi's work but you still can find those that will say they do worship Satan. As for Luciferism I am not to sure on the origins but after reading your post I decided too see if I could find a good site about it so if you go to the following link you can get a good description of modern Luciferism.

Smile A healthy Wiccan

I love religions of all types and I have a deep respect for those who follow what they feel is the right practice for them and not what others tell them to. I myself am a wiccan I practice green magick and I have a very close relationship with nature Im also looking into Tarot and many other different forms of fortunetelling.I lucky to own my own set of Tarot cards a gift from my father on my 16th birthday. I enjoy meeting people of different religions and Im thinking of looking into Lycanthropy I really didnt even know that this was a modern practice interesting.

There is nothing wrong with having interest in learning about something. Don't let people tell you your "disturbed" for wanting to learn, who are they to judge? If I could give you any advice though I would say do not jump into any one practice study and learn, keep your options open and find what makes you happy.

I don't really practice one particular religion, but I do love to research everything I can, and I have been known to try my hand at a "spell" here and there. The use of herbs is what really draws me though, and the manipulation of energies. The most I've ever gotten out of it was some healing, which I guess has some good uses =P
