Negative energy

I couldn't decide what forum to put this in so I just decided I thought it could go here. Does anyone have advice on how to get rid of a constant flow of negative energy within a house. There is such a large amount of negative energy here that I can feel it is having a bad impact on everyone. This has been going on for a long time and constantly gets worse. I consider myself an empath and that is one reason that I feel I am more aware of what is going on. I can feel all the negative energy constantly. Whenever in the house I pick up on all the negativity from others and I think they are in such a negative mood because of the energy around here. As a result when I pick up on it I often take on the emotional energy I pick up on. That is never a good thing around here. There is only one person that usually seems to give off a good energy in the house and that is my son. The whole house just has a bad feeling to it. If you have ever walked into a place and just been able to tell if you felt it was a good or bad place then you should know what I am talking about. I am at a loss as to how I can fix this and bring a more positive energy flow into the house. The amount of negative energy is just overwhelming.

did you try something like this:
Take a large bowl of salt and sprinkle a pinch or two over the exterior doorways and windowsills of your home. Make certain you get each and every one.
Choose the room that has the strongest negative feel to it. Light a white candle. In a large fire proof bowl combine the following:
1 tablespoon powdered garlic,1 tablespoon peppermint, 1 tablespoon ground clove, 1 tablespoon dried/powdered thistle, handful or two of sweetgrass, sage or dried oak leaves
Carefully light the mixture so that it smolders, giving off an aromatic smoke. Leaving the candle lit, carry the bowl in to each room and repeat the following:
In the name of the Eternal Lady and Lord I bid thee part.
I consecrate and clear this space.
Let nothing but joy linger here.
When you have done each room, return to the first, set the bowl beside the candle and wait for the remaining mixture to burn out. Take the ash outside and sprinkle it over the grass/flowerbed/etc, thereby returning it to the Mother.

I've also heard burning sage is good.

I personally leave a clove of garlic in my room and on the full moon I throw it into the river behind my house. I think it helps...

I might give that a try.

I just have to wait until everyone in the house is going to be gone for a while. My parents are against me burning anything in my cauldron inside of the house.

I recently had to do this to my own bedroom. Mum got out the feng shuei kit and I played with the singing bowl. I think it worked really well. Not only am I not depressed, but I am doing really well at my job and socially. Can't say the same for my classes but all in all I'm doing really well. There's something about vibrations and sounds that clear away all negative energies. Try finding a feng suei kit, it really works.

Also, I tend to clean my room and get rid of old things, like old worn out clothes. Vaccum, get some type of diffuser that's clean smelling, not overwhelming, and set it in your room. Makes all the difference in the world.

Yeah, I was actually thinking I should move some things around and clean up any clutter. The house is alway a mess and that only results in a buildup of stagnant energy along with the emotionally charged negative energy that is here.

Every few weeks I get rid of things that are just clutter. Makes me feel so much better. Definately do that. All around the house of it's just horrific.
