Allowing Someone to die, Mercy Death, and Mercy Killing
Assuming that such acts were legal, could you yourself ever allow someone to die or perform the acts of mercy death or mercy killing??

If I knew I was going to die sooner or later and if I was suffering, then I might ask someone to kill me. I mean, that's the same thing as saying that if all else fails and I don't want a machine to keep my alive in my body fails to do so, then I want them to let me go.
There is no point in allowing someone or yourself to become a vegetable.

I think I could do it. Why would you want someone, or yourself, to suffer for a prolonged peroid of time, if they see no hope in survival in the long run? That's like keeping a wounded animal in a cage with a splint on it, it can't move or excercize, but as long as your there to give it food and water, it'll survive... but that seems a little inhumane to me, so I think a quick painless death would be the right thing to do. I would never want to become a vegitable, that would be worse than going blind... and damn, going blind would BLOW!

I believe that everyone should have mastery over their fate. I don't respect any government that would interfere in my choice of how I live, and neither do I respect any government that would interfere in my choice of how I die.
I would discourage this course unless the person truly had reason for it (I would not, for example, help my friend with depression kill herself if her boyfriend/fiancee left), but I would pull the plug if she left me instructions to do so if she were living as a vegetable.
If my aging but still amazing grandmother were to be finally defeated by a devastating fall that left her in a state of constant pain, I would help her if her wish was to end it.
And I would expect any of my friends to do the same for me.

I'm all for it. Why go out in pain and suffering when you can go out healthy and happy.
If I even got diagnosed with something terminal with no sign of a cure or w/e I would probably just spend some time with family and friends then take a shit ton of narcotics and take a permanent nap.

It all depends on the persons outlook to me. If they wanted to kill themselves because of emotional distress (Ristaron's example was good) and I cared about the person... probably even if I didn't, I would try to stop them.
If someone simply becomes "done" with life it's doubtful they will need your help unless physically unable in which case I would lend a hand.
Yes.. I think we should all be able to decide when and where we die ( as far as when we have had enough of life.)
If I ever were to experience everything I am sure I would want to die but that seems impossible to me so I will not willingly die an early death. I am not of the mentality that I want to "die easily" or "healthy." I used to be. But now... I want to grow old and die, even if it is slow, painful and hard. If you are willing to live through all the pain and suffering in life to experience it, why not be willing to die the same way?

I'd actually like to be diagnosed with terminal cancer, as it would force me into doing things I've been meaning to do for years before beginning a slow decline; near the end of which, when I become too weak to travel and begin to really feel the pain, I could then opt for euthanasia. It's so much more dignified than any other form of death I can imagine.
And anyone who would stand in the way of me retaining my dignity in the last stages of my life can sod off.
Has anybody seen Million Dollar Baby?
