Lost Tomb of Jesus

How many people out there saw the documentary?
What are your views/opinions about it?

Does it hold and scientific merit? Is it at all possible to be the true tomb of Christ? Does this shake your faith?

--
I saw that film and I found it very interesting. It makes for good entertainment and it does open up some though provoking questions.

I found the science lacking, they jumped to too many conclusion to deliver what they wanted to prove. They opened the field for debate and discussion which is always good, but many might be lead to belive that this is the only fact eventhough it's not.

Is it possible? Very much so, just the fact that those names appear together should allow for further discussion. Yes the odds were/are high, but its not out of the question.

As for my faith, I find that I have some questions, but in the whole, its not shaken. My faith stands.

Dammit. I didn't get to see it. I wanted to watch it.
Do you know when it comes on again?

I'm curious to see where this goes, but they haven't sold me on it yet.

My professor, who is an avid and active member of the archaeological community, said that the film was debunked (by said community) before it was released, and that the evidence presented is hardly strong.

True, if it mentioned every waking detail about his life we'd have like 900 extra books on the bible just on Jesus. Plus it does kind of skip ahead from child to adult

Well... I'm new here so i guess I'll introduce myself first.. I'm Sean.
My opinion is that IF they can prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that this tomb and the bones inside did in fact belong to Jesus Bar-Joseph of Nazareth, the Christian faith will be torn off it's pedastal, and Christianity will fall.. fortunately for the Christians, the "tomb of Jesus" is the wrong tomb... Jesus was burried in the tomb of Joseph of Aramathea (a borrowed tomb) where in the documentary, it is stated that the tomb was owned by the family burried within. Also- the "scientists" researching the remains in the tomb, took DNA samples from the bones supposed to be those of Jesus, and those supposed to be those of Mary Magdelene, concluded that they were not related, and therefore must have been married... unsound logic. I could go to the local cemetery, and say that because two graves in the mosoleum were side by side, and the coffins touching, those IN the coffins must have been married. There is no solid way to prove that these bones are the bones of Jesus called "Christ". There is in fact, more proof AGAINST it.
