Ugh, I apologize because this is off topic. It does kind of relate in the sense that it seems that Christianity is awfully hung up on labels for things. Lord of the Rings is ok because J.R.R Tolkein was a Christian, but Harry Potter is evil because J.K. Rawlings wasn't friends with C.S. Lewis.

All fantasy is allegory for something else. The intent of the author is the most important thing, no matter what they use to tell the story.

Neither Harry Potter nor LOTR is really about wizards and magic. It's just a vehicle to tell a story.
Also, how would you know it is not a fallen angel talking to you? Would you just trust anything that says its from God? How would you decide if it is a messenger of God or something else?

Anything spiritual that confronts you, you ask, "are you from Christ" If not, then it's not something to trust. There is power in the name, I've experienced spiritual things like this, so it's not an arrogant or ignorant opinion.

Why would something evil come to you in a ugly package? The best way to deceive someone is to trick them into thinking you are good or have good intentions. Something bad is not going to come to you in a unfriendly form.

Its not hard to lie.

Thats like saying I cant tell you I am from Christ because I am under the ultimate authority of God. If something wants to tell you something it will. Unless you are saying the demons work for God in some way? Would that mean you believe God created demons? Also, don't get all offended like you do every time I speak my thoughts. I am asking serious questions I am curious to know your opinion on.

Thanks

I'm not offended. But I have been. I will take this sentence to officially apologize for being a stick in the mud asshole... I'm really trying not to be, and I'm sorry for those I've wronged in the error parts of the trial and error dealie.

Anyway... It's a thing like this. A figure that claims to be from God shows up. I say something to the effect of, "In the name of Jesus Christ, are you sent from God?" and... that tends to work. He has extreme power, Christ.

God did create demons. He created a number of angels in eternity past, 1/3 of them, along with Satan, defied God and became fallen angels, aka demons, and the fate of the heavenly inhabitants was sealed; they had made their choice, some had chosen to deny God, most had chosen to serve God. God cast them out of Heaven and maybe cursed them, though I suppose that falling out of God's presence in and of itself could do the changing just because of the ultimately good nature of God and his presence...

I feel like demons can't lie to God... and so, asking them with the authority of Christ Jesus, aka God, they have to be honest.

if it goes against what God has lined up, then it's not from God.

And how would you know what God is thinking?

If Jesus has such sway over demons; how can he not rebuke the devil?
All he was able to do was deny temptation.

And Satan, according to Christian mythology, is just another fallen angel. A former Seraphim at that, but beneath the Father.

Everything I've read into the subject says demons can, and will, lie. I see no reason why they wouldn't present themselves as agents of Christ to fullfill their goals.
