The Dead Sea Scrolls

Zwardfulk is offline
After looking around in libraries and the internet, I've heard everything about The Dead Sea Scrolls, but I haven't heard what they actually say. I know a lot of the facts surrounding the finding of them, but what they say is a different story.

If you've come across anything remotely close to what they say or MIGHT say, please share.. I'm quite interested.

And also give me a link or a book to give me proof.. I'd really like to see it first hand.

A lot of what the Dead Sea Scrolls encompass is what you would normally read so most likely you have a significant part of the Dead Sea Scrolls in your bible, the others are varying books that were not canonized, books of scholarly commentary on different books, books on different sects of Judaism and so forth which is very interesting to read.

The reason why you could not find the contents of the Dead Sea Scrolls is because it is either part of the bible or it has not been translated yet from the Biblical Hebrew, Aramaic, or Greek.

Here is something I did find, it is not much but more than enough to satisfy your curiosity.

The Dead Sea Scrolls are only a portion of the books not canonized. As for the controversy behind it, I've no idea but am just as curious.

There's a fair bit of controversy regarding the Dead Sea Scrolls, as they involve the Gnostic Gospels, as they have been called, which describe many things that don't appear in the other gospels (similar to how one of the gospels doesn't even describe the resurrection). Especially regarding Mary Magdalene, who, in one of them, is represented more as Jesus' wife than a prostitute turned discliple.

To add more to this, they contain a lot of information that was thought to be lost such as a lot of information which was common knowledge at the time which have been lost to time through the years, events in the Bible spoken in great detail, etc.

For example, something you might not ever have thought about,, when Moses had to pick up his staff that changed into a snake by the tail, it was a complete act of faith and trust in God that the snake would not turn around and bite him because you pick a snake up behind its head (Not by its tail). This is an example of something that was common knowledge that people normally wouldn't read over twice because it is like big deal, he picked up his staff.

Hah, it's interesting though, I've never thought about it like that.

I have read both the book of Book of Jubilees and Enoch. I actually found Enoch to be very interesting. I don't really remember anything about Jubiliees because I got bored half way through it. I never really got back to it or finished it. If I remember correctly it just seemed like another version of Genesis to me. You can probably find most of them online. I have a .pdf of the book of Enoch and I know you can find it in the bookstore also. Enoch was actually really interesting. It describe how these angels called watchers took humans for their wives. They taught people to the secrets of heaven, how to make weapons of war, and how to make cosmetics. They reproduced with the humans and created half human, half angel things. They are also the reason for the flood. They were considered an abomination in the eyes of the Lord. Thats just the short version though of the part I found most interesting.

I did a search and found the Book of Enoch online. here is the link..

The Book of Enoch

The book of Jubiliees...

Actually, if you go here you can find a large number of the books you are looking for. I will end up doing some reading now that I found this.

Pseudepigrapha, Apocrypha and Sacred Writings

I like these books, they tend to be more, imaginative, then the rest of the Bible.
