Are there any Catholics here? if so say what u gave up for Lent.

I gave up TV for lent. its a lot harder than i thought it would be....

yep I'm Catholic. I gave up soda. lol. I do it every year but I always end up drinking it at least once without realising it at all...which I've already done. bah. hahaha.

lent last for 40 days and 40 nights to symbolize how Jesus stayed in the desert for that amount of time. While he was there he fasted and prayed. So to, i guess, honor him we give up some thing we like or do some thng extra during those 40 days of lent. ( i suck at putting it all in words)

i gave up soda last year.... it was so much easier last year... it seems. giving up TV is hard.

Im Lutheran and I celebrate Lent too. Well, I did at least. I gave up soda too, and I didnt drink pop for months after lent ended. In my opinion, the Catholic Church is pretty strict compared to how Lutherans do things.
