Victim tortured for 10 months wants apology

A beautiful example of how the U.S. uses "torture" and completely demolishes the bill of rights by sending "suspects" outside of the U.S. to be tortured, questioned with no phone calls, legal rights, etc

That sucks for that dude. The thing I never understand about torture is: if you torture someone enough, they are going to tell you whatever they think will stop the torture. It really doesn't work. It's not really an information gathering tool, it's more of a tell us what we want to hear tool. Doesn't make any sense.

lol Yeah from that point of view it is pretty ineffective.

I always kind of wondered that too, but I think 99% of the time the torturer is just looking for someone to pick up the blame or admit to something for court papers or to satisfy people...and that's effective for them. It puts people's minds at ease. Creates a scapegoat.

They admit that things might not have been handled correctly? WE CAUSED SOMEONE TO BE TORTURED FOR 10 MONTHS. FUCKING OOPS?! This not caring about torture which should be considered barbaric is making me sick. They caused someone to be beat until he couldn't remember anything good in his life.

If they play it off as "Syria lied to us" I will be so pissed. It will just mean they didn't know what was going on, which means they had no reason to send him there. ...this is so rediculous.

This is a sad story.

I catch stories that are cropping up like this all over the place. This is one of the first I've seen carried by any sort of mainstream outlet though.
