In my opinion, it would be a blessing to the world to have the music taken off the airwaves. As for wanting to prevent those styles from being expressed in public, that's not going to stop them from being expressed at home so I don't know what they really hope to accomplish.

See, what get's me is this. Ok, I'm not into the whole Emo or Goth thing. Whoever is into it, that's fine. I could honetly care less but, at the same time, you really gotta wonder if Governments that are taking on topics like this are power-tripping, rather than actually helping the people.

I mean, I guess, in Rist's case, it helps him and in some cases, it hurts me because well, if I were to go to Russia, I would have one less thing to laugh about.

But, all jokes aside, wtf? You know what I mean?

The way i see it, they've already won in a way. Even if they don't end up making it illegal.. i'm sure they've already got parents thinking.. if its so bad that they want to make it illegal, my child probably shouldn't be listening to it

It is kind of stupid though.. as much as i hate emo kids.. i still think its pretty much just a phase.. like disco.. in time it will die out and people will look back and realize how dumb it really was....

at the same time, I can see where they're coming from.. you've got kids listening to this garbage and slitting their wrists blah blah blah.. but in my opinion.. if these kids are dumb enough to do that because they talk about it in a song.. they deserve whatever happens. This is a prime example of why movies and video games are blamed for all the worlds problems.. its just more fuel for the fire

Exactly. People use things, such as the media, as excuses for why they do the things they do out in the real world.
I will tell you right now, no video game or song has made me want to go out and do those things. Well, I mean...they make me want to do some of the things but that would just be retarded because I know the difference between reality and the virtual world.

I do know that a lot of these 'emo' kids take everything to heart and make up fake problems so they fit in with the rest of them and, after a while, when someone keeps telling the same stories then they are going to start believing it's real and then really get depressed.
They start fights with their parents and then go to school and tell their friends that their parents are assholes because they said this and that when in all reality none of that would have been said if said person didn't create the fight.

It's a continuous cycle.
