Question George Carlin Has Died

ET breaks the news that comedian George Carlin has died from heart failure. The man who made famous the "seven words you can never say on television" passed away at 5:55 p.m. Sunday at Saint John's Hospital in Santa Monica, his longtime publicist said. He was 71.

Carlin, who has had several heart attacks and a history of cardiac issues, went into the hospital this afternoon after complaining of heart problems.

Carlin has more than 20 comedy albums, 14 HBO specials, numerous TV and movie roles, and three best-selling books to his credit. Last year, he celebrated his 50th year in show business, and he had just finished his last HBO special in March, "It's Bad for Ya."
This is the saddest news Ive heard in a while

Awwe. No more Carlin. It's rare that a well known person dies and I know who they are and care. Though I've got to say his midcareer was the best stuff to me. But he was awesome.

Hey, he had a long, full life. I hope I have even half as much fun as he did and then die at old age. He was pretty good though.

He is the man. This guy wasn't afraid to poke fun at anything. He can take even the most routine sounding things and have people laughing their asses off at it.

George Carlin is my personal hero. A lot of my own humor stems off of things he says... I owe a lot of my inspirations to him. And both of the live shows I seen you in where a couple of the best moments in my life. Thank You for living George Carlin - may your take over in hell be a long and glorious battle.

I remember watching him on Shining Time Station as The Conductor when I was young. That show kicked major ass.
