Free hug! (plus detention)
Has anyone heard the news? Some girl in Illinois received detention for hugging a friend because she disobeyed their rule... WTF?
From Student handbook: "Displays of affection should not occur on the school campus at any time. It is in poor taste, reflects poor judgment, and brings discredit to the school and to the persons involved." How is hugging in poor taste and poor judgment? Has our society relapsed to a Puritan society of oppression and ridiculous morals? Communication via touch is a very important nonverbal behavior. Harry Harlow is rolling over in his grave, this is completely preposterous! I want to drive to that fuckin school with a sign "free hug" and hug everyone that walks out.
