Fireworks Faked at Olympics

China's opening ceremonies included an elaborate fireworks display. However, news surfacing today shows that this was faked for TV.

I only bring this up because if it was so easy to do that....what's to say that's the first time something has been edited in somewhere on TV?

What did you think graphic designers do?

I have always wanted to get into graphic design. More then half of what you see on TV is computer generated and about 3/4ths of commercials are graphic art.

I have always been aware to these things but, then again, I am the girl that thinks what we see when we look into the sky is fake and projected.

No no no obviously that part is true, I meant that they were edited in on live TV.

I didn't mean to wander away from the topic. It's late and I am just rambling.

I have been aware of the media doing this as well. They are going to control what we see, do you honestly think that they are only doing this with fireworks?
Fireworks are a lot more complicated then a majority of what they have been doing.

No i don't think it's limited to fireworks. It's just another reason you shouldn't trust something simply because it's on TV.

They also had that girl who was lipsyncing, because the real singer was too ugly by chinese standards (she had buck teeth).

The Chinese have also instated censorship after expressly stating that all media was welcome. The International Journalist Association (I think that's their official name) had asked flat-out long before the games were to start if China was going to censor anything. They said "No".

Websites and television stations all throughout China and certain Western media companies have since been blocked after the games started.

There are also persistent rumours that an elderly tourist was killed, and then his murderer committed suicide, prompting the Chinese to quickly clean up the scene and re-open the area to more tourists without the media permitted to hear the story.

Besides, on TV, you can do anything with a 60 second to a minute and a half delay. Taht and, counting the latency between field transmitters to the satelite network and then back down to the network affiliates, I'd say if they're on a delay, it would be at least a good 3-5 minute lag.

That is one of the reasons why I despise the television. I cannot stand to watch it unless it is something worth my time.
That is why I dedicate my television to video games and video games only because they don't try to lie to me and lead me to believe that they aren't fake.
