Basically, Bush made a signing statement saying he can ignore provisions in the Defense Act if he thinks they "interfere" with the war. One of these provisions is a ban on permanent bases in Iraq.

Bush has challenged over 1100 laws.

The larger problem here is people who have blindly supported the GOP and President Bush have paved the way of precedence for if someone like say, oh, HILLARY CLINTON takes office, she will have all these same executive priveleges that Bush has usurped over the last 8 years.

Tell me that thought isn't terrifying.

We need someone to challenge these ego-maniacs in washington and take them off their power trip pedestals.
