Bush claims privilege to withhold CIA leak records

Quote:
President Bush invoked executive privilege to keep Congress from seeing the FBI report of an interview with Vice President Dick Cheney and other records related to the administration's leak of CIA operative Valerie Plame's identity in 2003.

The president's decision drew a sharp protest Wednesday from Rep. Henry Waxman, chairman of House Oversight Committee, which had subpoenaed Attorney General Michael Mukasey to turn over the documents.

"This unfounded assertion of executive privilege does not protect a principle; it protects a person," the California Democrat said. "If the vice president did nothing wrong, what is there to hide?"
There is much more, this is just a excerpt.

So I hear the entire international community saying stuff like "why don't you do something about your government?!" and "how could you vote for Bush twice?!" and "Americans are lazy and stupid, they don't care about what their government does to the rest of the world"... When the hell is the international community going to step up and FORCE this motherfucker to be held responsible since OBVIOUSLY congress wont do shit? Why hasn't that happened yet?

It isn't the international communities responsibility to do anything in the U.S's interest. That is the equivalent of saying a child is the communities responsibility and not the parent's.

Yeah but if laws are being broken and nobody is being held accountable, something extreme must be done. I heard Kieth Olbermann talking about something like this on Countdown the other day, something about how the IC might step in and do exactly that, force them to take responsibility.
