Hey... it could happen
Side note- Whoever said summertime livin' is easy never had to miss 3 summers in a row due to deployments.
Anywho... My guess is that this isn't much of a change from xanga, myspace or livejournal, but it is something to keep one's self entertained while out to sea (especially since it's not blocked by the D.O.D.). So without further ado, I give you the mind of Mic. The life of that crazy, monkey-lovin' sailor we've all come to know & love. At the present time, I'm still learning how to use forums but I suspect it will only be a matter of time before I have damn near mastered this art. However, That may take a while, as internet service out to sea is a bit dodgy.
But I digress- This initial post is going to commemorate my footprint in the annals of the world-wide-web. I've done a lot in life, I can say that with confidence. Most of it has not directly impacted my own life, but those of others that mean a lot to me: my sisters & mother, my friends, disasters victims (insert shameless self-promotion), and yes even some of my co-workers. For those who know, yes I'm married, however that's not going as well as it should. I'm learning that my major weakness lies with my lack of being assertive. At the present time, life is floating by at a leisurely clip. Keeping yourself occupied all the time is our biggest challenge in the Gulf. Having 40+ books, a laptop, a PSP, and a fully functional gym help a lot, but there are times that I just drift off into the open ocean of my memory, where I can pull into the ports of high-school and visit old friends. I've tried for years to put those memories into a fictionalized account of the world I remember. That hasn't made much progress past page one...
Being on mids gives you a lot of time to let the mind wander in and out of every pothole of possibility. My train of thought, in the last hour alone, has been something like this:
"I wonder if anything important is going to happen in the morning."
"HedKandi puts out some awesome CD's."
"I think I want to go the UK."
"Why am I listening to the NBA Draft? This guy has the most annoying voice I've ever heard from a guy."
"Wonder when the Spurs get to pick..."
"It's such a shame I'm missing the '07 All-Star Games in Frisco..."
"The Buena Vista Cafe has the best Irish coffee"
"That reminds me, I could really use some good Mexican food."
"I really kinda want to see that movie "Pathfinder"."
"Ooh "Curious George", might be something I could watch right now."
"How much longer 'til I get relived?"
Actually, come to think of it, I think that's how my thought process goes most of the time. Well... I should get going. There's only so much I can inundate y'all with. Not that any of this has any coherence or that it is of any significance to anything to what might be going on in the world. Maybe, however, this might give some a short vacation from the real world.
I know this isn't exactly discussion material, so no reply is necessary.

Oh.
Gosh.
Yeah..I couldn't keep it going like this, i'm not a one word kinda gal. And guess what? I'm part of the future that we all talk about, hopefully i'm up there taking out those one words (unless of course i'm side tracked..in which case I will eventually talk your ear off).
But anyway...back to the point.
Do you keep a diary, journal or what not? You said you were trying to write a fictionalized story about your high school..why don't you write a factual story about it? Just write everthing that you remember write it allll down. Description for Description.
1. It takes away your daydreams so you can actually work out in the gym and give your lady some attention
2. It gets your story off of page 1.
3. I just wanted there to be another option.
