Don't ever give my dad a stolen check...

Fez wanted to know more about this and some other people knew this was going on as well at my work, so here is an update and the story for those of you who don't know and feel like reading.

We have had a car up here since January and the only thing we did to it was tear it down (disassembled the car where the damage from the wreck was.) We couldn't start repairs on it because we were having trouble with the 'insurance company' and et cetera.
Well, the woman shows up Friday demanding us to let her 'look' in her car. My dad did not allow her back there. He told her that she could not see it until we got paid (since we have basically been storing it since January.)
She leaves and comes back with a check for $5,500 that was not signed. My dad told her that it needed to be signed. She claimed that it was her mother's and her mother didn't know that she had to sign it since her name was already at the top of the check. (

She leaves again and comes back with the check signed on the front AND the back. -snicker-
My dad felt as if something was up, so he took it to the bank. He told them that if it was good then he wanted a cashiers check. Well he gets them to check it over and they told him that it wasn't good so my dad got in the middle of shit.
He calls the woman whose name is on the check and says, "Hi. This is Alan from Clayton Collision, I have a check here from you for $5,500."
The woman asks, "What?" He goes, "Yea. Your daughter Pamela BLEEP gave me a check from you." Um. Long story short the woman said that she never knew she had a daughter by that name. My dad told her she needed to call the police but then he said never mind and took it into his own hands.
He calls the police and lets them know what is going on. An officer shows up about 25 minutes later, my dad fills out a statement and yadda yadda.
Well the woman ends up calling while he is here so Billy tells her that they are ready to start working on her car but she had to sign a paper saying that it is okay for us to do so and that if she didn't then we couldn't do anything. The cop sticks around and we didn't think she was going to show up. Then two black women and a child pull into our parking lot and one of our workers recognized them. (For some reason, I thought she was a Mexican...we get so many people coming through here though...it is confusing.)
They walk in and the cop asks her what he name is. She told him Tammy (which was a different name she gave us.) Then she turned it into the 'my middle name is Tammy, I go by my middle name' bullshit.
The cop tells her to get someone up here to get her kid because he was going to arrest her and he didn't want to put her in handcuffs in front of her child but she wouldn't cooperate, so he put her in handcuffs in front of her kid. Her kid starts crying and screaming. The woman that was with her took the kid and left and he put her in the back of a squad car until a female officer showed up to pat her down.

Yea...it was an interesting day.

Well she should have thought about that before she stole someone's checks and filled it out for almost six thousand dollars.

Wow thats a pretty interesting day..

She's stupid for not cooperating, for the sake of her kid..
But if she even cared then she wouldn't have stolen someones check..

Very stupid.
We could tell she was very ignorant because she just paid us Friday and she called numerous times yesterday asking if her car was done when we don't work on weekends....
