If there is one thing I can't stand more than anything, are the people who apparently have it worse off than anyone else and crave attention from everyone else about it.
. I'm sorry you did have a bad day, but what do you want me to do about it? Sure I'll talk to you, but a bad mood or event is nothing to sit on forever. You have to move on. People do eventually get bored with someone who rants and raves all the time about their bad mood and that is how you can push a lot of people away. And then you wonder why you don't have any friends..
You had a bad break up, I'm sorry but what about the wife who's husband died in combat? Your parents are getting divorced, I'm sorry but what about the little girl who's parents abandoned her? You're moving, I'm sorry but what about the family who can't buy a home.
I know there are people who are worse off than me. The other people of this country need to learn that also.
What this country needs is less sympathy and more empathy. Yes there is a BIG difference. Sympathy is simply feeling bad for someone, but empathy is actually being able to FEEL and UNDERSTAND what someone else is going through. To be able to put yourself in someone else's situation and feeling EXACTLY how and what they feel.
There is always someone else who is worse off than you and they are the one's who you need to empathize with.
