did anybody see that special on the history channel with the theory that the world is going to end in December 2012?

If so what do you think of it?

For those who haven't seen it I'll kindly summarize
according to a bunch of prophets like the Oracle at Delphi The Merlin, nostadomus, the Mayan Calander, native american philosphy and load of other random sources the earth will either be sucked into a black hole, change it axis (resulting in global natural catastrophe) or humans will just blow themselves up. The date was the same all over the world. 12.21.2012

SO what do u think BS? or should we be ducking and covering?

It's not the date the world will end. It's the date of transition into the World of the Fifth Sun. Dec 21 2012 will be the start of a new era resulting from and signified by the solar meridian crossing the galactic equator, and the earth aligning itself with the center of the galaxy. Or so I had read somewhere a long time ago... lol

true but there is a black hole in the center of the galaxy right? i assume if we get sucked in we're screwed.

Well, that's what National Geographic says here. And yeah, well, we always assume that anything sucked into a black hole is pretty much doomed. But we really don't know what happens inside a black hole other than the fact that matter is sucked into it. The intense gravity warps space time and could end up acting as a wormhole. But who knows... I'm sure I don't want to find out firsthand...

i honestly dont know what to believe when it comes to shit like this, so quite frankly i just go about my own buisness and ignore it. like i need a depressing thing like that over my head

Although, I have a sneaking suspicion that if the world is going to end, it will end when no one is expecting it. Ha.

Edit: Wait, wasn't the world supposed to end 06/06/06???

Ah, I've actually heard numerous things about that day.
I read on wikipedia that there is infact an astroid headed for Earth, but they said by the time it even gets close enough, it will be sucked into a black hole.
Or so I heard. They're also paying 15,00,000 to anyone who comes up with any good ideas of getting near or close to it for scientific studies.

2012 isn't the date the world was supposed to end, it was just the date the Mayans calender ended. That part kind of baffled me, as to why they'd end it on that specific day/year/month , but who knows right?

If the world is going to end, we're going to go without knowing.
