Rules 2.0
General Rules:- 1. While debating and discussion is fine, we will not tolerate rudeness, insulting posts, personal
attacks or purposeless inflammatory posts. Our decision is final in these matters. Blogs and the
Flame Board (Piss N Moan) are available for venting, so please use them appropriately.
- 2. Please refrain from posting meaningless threads, one word (or short) non-sense posts (Spam),
or the such. Threads violating this rule will be subject to deletion.
- 3. Choose an appropriate subject line. Try to summarize the problem briefly in the subject, and
elaborate in the message itself. Repeat the subject in the body if it will make things clearer. Do
not use all caps and do not add false information just to get attention (e.g. : read this or you will
be arrested). An example of a bad subject would be "HELP ME". A good subject might be,
"Advice on enlistment". Do not use a URL as a thread title.
- 4. No useless posts. This includes: Thread bumping, useless one liners, Flame-wars, Trolling and
Spamming. Please carry personal arguments either in the Private Message system of the Flame
Board (Piss N Moan). Posts violating this rule will be subject to moderation or deletion.
- 5. Members should post in a way which is consistent with "normal writing". That is users should
not post excessive numbers of emoticons, large, small or colored text, etc. Similarly users should
not SHOUT or use excessive punctuation (e.g. ! and ?) in topic titles or posts. Users consistently
abusing this will be warned. We do not expect a college-grade essay for each and every post,
simply that your thoughts are presented in a coherent and understandable manner. Posts in
violation of this rule will be subject to moderation (the integrity of the “translation” is unable to
be guaranteed), or merely deletion.
- 6. Users who post pornographic, sanguinary, or otherwise indecent pictures, links, or accounts will
be warned, or banned, depending on the severity of the infraction and the history of abuse.
- 7. Each member is allowed one login account. Registering with multiple accounts is not allowed.
Action will be taken to rectify such actions.
- 8. We reserve the right to remove offensive posts without notice.
- 9. Also while these rules cover most common situations, they cannot anticipate everything.
Consequently we reserve the right to take any actions we deem appropriate to ensure these
forums are not disrupted or abused in any way. In short, the Beast Toast staff reserve the right to
use their discretion to handle situations as they arise. Any problems with actions undertaken by a
moderator can be filed as complaints to the forum administrators via the Private Message system.
Do not make threads to contest a decision you do not agree with, or flame a member of the staff
for doing their job.
Advertising Services and Solicitation:- 1. We do not allow people to post threads or to send private messages or emails to users here that
advertise or solicit any products, services, funds or donations (Spam). Explicit advertising and
solicitation in signatures is also prohibited.
Avatars:- 1. Animated avatars are allowed. Avatars may be imported as long as size restrictions are met.
Signature Size Limits- 1. K.I.S.S. *Keep It Simple Stupid*. Everyone hates to see that your signature is larger than any
post you could have made. It is not an autobiography, it is a simple statement. You may post your
autobiography in your blog section on our site.
- 2. For images in signatures: 1 image up to 500 pixels wide, 200 pixels tall and 50k in size
- 3. Animated images in a signature are allowed.
We also have some rules that apply for certain forums:- 1. Marketing Ideas Forum
This forum is for the promotion of BeastToast.com, not for promoting your own
products/services. Ideas to help spread the Toasty Phenomenon can be posted here.
- 2. Religion Forum
- a. We know everyone does not abide by the same religious standard. Therefore, please
refrain from any aggravated posts in this forum. Every person is allowed their own
opinion, but only if they let it be known in a sensible manner, and without inflammatory
posts. Breaking these rules will result in no less than a Temporary (1-30 Days) Ban. Our
decision in this is final and is not to be contested. It is completely inappropriate to preach
any religious brouhaha in the non-theistic debates occur there just as it is (enforced as of
Feb. 24th, 2007) for anti-theistic comments to be made in theistic sections.
- b. That is not, however, to say that healthy debate is prohibited. This is a discussion board,
not a news bulletin; as such, debate is welcomed and encouraged.
Moderation-Explained- 1. BeastToast operates a three strike policy. Users will be warned a maximum of two times for any
and all offences in a one month period. If the need arises for a fourth warning a temporary ban
will be put in place of between 30 to 90 days.
- 2. Arguing with team members after having received a warning will lead to an immediate additional
warning. Should this exceed three strikes a temporary ban will be put in place as above.
- 3. Users who feel they have been unfairly warned are welcome to contact the relevant team leader,
e.g. if warned by a moderator you should contact the Moderator team leader. If they feel you were
treated badly they remove a warning.
- 4. Any attempt to circumvent a temporary ban will lead to that ban being made permanent.
- 5. Circumvention includes re-registering under a non-banned username, changing IP addresses to
evade an IP ban, registering a new email account of evade an email ban. Circumvention includes
posting as an anonymous user.
- 6. An exception to the three strike rule applies when users contact team members personally (via
any method) and post insulting, indecent or vulgar material. Such users may be subject to an
immediate permanent ban.
- 7. Permanent bans are a last resort and thought is given before implementing them. While
BeastToast may consider lifting permanent bans from time to time this is a rare occurrence.
