I saw a picture of that made into a motivational poster about incest... I almost threw up at that, too.

okay... I watched it... it's truly horrifying... it's the kind of thing I'd expect to see in an anime involving brutal death and the line between where the most pitiful and monstrous creatures exist.

I know it's not the harlequin child's fault... but I simply can't bear to even look at it much longer than the video lasted.

When the harlequin children get older, though, it's not quite so ghastly.

I think it's the eyes that really get me...

I don't know if I want to cry or get sick.

The fact that the nurses or doctors or whoever it was were laughing and sounded happy really upset me.

The fact of the matter is, the baby is still a baby and happiness is what a child needs....if I was a parent in this situation, I certainly wouldn't want people to just sit and gawk at my child. Hell, I give these people mad props for doing something I know I could never do myself.

The fact that these children can still live productive lives is astounding to me, considering the amount of diseases they are pron to.

I barely got half way through the video before I turned it off....at least my appetite is gone now.

at first I thought it was some weird alien baby hybrid or something, but then I read the description and wikied the disease and it gave me one hell of a shocker. I wonder what adults look like though.

Harlequin babies! I discovered them when I was in 10th or 11th grade, so a while back. Worst disease ever, but I was happy in a way to find that video on youtube last semester because before that I had only seen static photos of them. All the more creepier to see them actually move.
