Former NASA astronaut and moon-walker Dr. Edgar Mitchell — a veteran of the Apollo 14 mission — claims aliens exist.

He says extraterrestrials have visited Earth on several occasions — but the alien contact has been repeatedly covered up by governments for six decades.

Mitchell, 77, said during a radio interview in Birmingham, England, that sources at NASA who had had contact with aliens described the beings as "little people who look strange to us."

He said supposedly real-life ET's were similar to the traditional image of a "small gray" — short, slight frame, large eyes and large head.

Mitchell also claimed human technology is "not nearly as sophisticated" as the aliens' and "had they been hostile," he warned "we would be been gone by now."

I've a couple questions... why wait until now to speak up? That seems extremely dodgy.

Second question: did they board the shuttle and sodomize the crew? Because THEN it's epic news!

*shrugs* I just saw that on FOX news...and then decided to Wiki the guy. Here's some about him:

Mitchell has publicly expressed his opinions that he is "90 per cent sure that many of the thousands of unidentified flying objects, or UFOs, recorded since the 1940s, belong to visitors from other planets"[5] and that UFOs have been the "subject of disinformation in order to deflect attention and to create confusion so the truth doesn't come out."[6] In 2004 he told the St. Petersburg Times that a "cabal of insiders" inside the US Government were studying recovered alien bodies, and that this group had stopped briefing US Presidents after John F. Kennedy.[7] He has said, that "We all know that UFOs are real, now the question is, where they come from."[8]

On July 23, 2008 Edgar Mitchell was interviewed on Kerrang Radio. Mitchell claimed the Roswell crash was real and that Aliens have contacted humans several times but that governments have hidden the truth for 60 years stating, "'I happen to have been privileged enough to be in on the fact that we've been visited on this planet and the UFO phenomena is real." In reply, a spokesman for NASA stated, "NASA does not track UFOs. NASA is not involved in any sort of cover up about alien life on this planet or anywhere in the universe. Dr Mitchell is a great American, but we do not share his opinions on this issue."[9] [10]

I highly doubt that they could have visited the planet and survived. Life on this planet has so many antibodies to counter the natural infectious agents that any newcomer to our biosphere would be devastated without an extremely potent immune system.

Even in our own history has it been witnessed that the biosphere is volatile. When the British originally went to Africa they nearly all died out because they didn't have the antibodies for the infections present there. And when they invaded North America they introduced smallpox to the First Nations people, devastating their population.

So true...but I can't but to speculate that their immune systems may be as advanced as the everything else that they're rumored to have.

Either that, or they aren't susceptible to most of this planet's viruses or bacterial infections. Ya know, kind of like how one thing that may be dangerous to a dog may not be dangerous to us? Perhaps what's dangerous to us isn't dangerous to them.

By waiting until he's nearly 80 it just looks like he's going crazy from old age. Which may be. I mean, he doesn't have anything new that we haven't seen on TV. =/ I guess they aren't hostile anyway so we're safe.

When he says he's seen the Doctor, I'll be interested. >>;

Assuming that the things in our biosphere can harm aliens you must then assume that they would even be susceptible to anything they encounter here, which is not necessarily true.

Kind of nerdy but look at Mr. Fantastic. He has no internal organs save for one sac that creates and pumps out nutrients. So many infections, diseases and what have you would not effect him at all.
