The aging process
If science made it possible to completely stop the aging process in humans, to where nobody had to die from aging anymore, what do you think would be the publics reaction?

My first thought would be "We are about to have a major overpopulation problem."

I agree with what Nacht said, and I think we'd also have a major protest from religions. Things like that can disrupt things quite a bit.

I doubt something like that would even be made available to the public. Over time it could cause to many problems.

I disagree, I think it would only improve human civilization and society if we could live 200, 500, 1,000 years old. We would drastically have to change a lot of things, but if we could work through it and get past that part, in the long run it would benifit our species. (I guess that wasn't the question I was asking though)
I think religion would disagree with the idea of eliminating aging hands down, and since so many people believe in religion, that's a huge problem in the step towards progress...

As someone who doesn't believe in religion, I personally believe this will take away the value of life. I know you said that we would only eliminate death through aging, but this kind of revelation will also make us think about eliminating death in general. It'll give us as humans more power than we can ever think of having, and it knocks us several steps closer to solving the one problem EVERYONE worries about, that of which is "What happens after death?"
To shorten it up, it'll cause more problems than just religious revolutions. We would lose all value in the death cycle and other important humanistic qualities that makes us unique.
Heres my question: How would this improve society? I understand the older someone is, the more they learn and the more they can contribute to society. But how else would eliminating natural death help us?

It would expand our species into the rest of the solar system and eventually farther out into space, we would advance technologically, who knows, there may even be things out there that we would discover that would help us with existing medical conditions, for instance. The older someone is able to live, the more they would learn, and the more they would hopefully contribute to society. Not to mention the workforce we would have, think a couple billion americans fit and able to work 8-10 hour work days, the economy would boom. More people working on something is usually a good thing, I'm sure everyones heard the old saying "two heads are better than one"... There would be more people working together to solve problems. But like I said, there would have to be dramatic changes to some parts of society today. It wouldn't be just like it is today, just with a lot more people. But in the big picture, I think it would benifit humanity to be able to live longer.

If we live too long we won't evolve.

I don't know if I want to die by old age, being hooked up to 20 machines at once, barely breathing...
