basically it just does this, i visit beasttoast.com the tool bar will find out where my IP address originates from then add 1 point to beasttoast.com from my origin. there nothing personal being sent and they have been around for a long time.

also the google search bar in FF actually monitors your searching too it pings back to google and checks if the site your are visiting is actually indexed yet. But none of this is harmful... just a bunch of statistics.
