I know I probably haven't been here long enough to start a pity-thread yet, but I'm desperate... I've been trying to lose weight the "natural way" for ages and it's taking too damn long. My current goal is losing 5 lbs by Halloween... that's over a month, so I think it's plausible. Does anyone know from experience what might work?
And the first asshole to tell me "diet and exercise" is going down... I already go to the gym about 5 days a week, walk to and from class every day, and haven't felt the satisfaction of a full stomach in about a year. -.-

Stop eating....
- Drink lots of water (1.5 - 2.0 Liters a day)
- Drink only water, except milk/soymilk and the occasional 8oz glass of orange juice or cranberry juice.
- No more energy drinks and coffee
- Reduce the amount of sugar in everything you eat.
- Lifting weights doesn't burn a lot of calories and walking to each class doesn't either, but then again I lost 25lbs by changing my diet and my activity level is still zero.
- Have a nutritional, yet small breakfast. Avoid all "processed" foods at breakfast lean more towards natural and organic.
- Avoid as much "processed" food as possible (i.e. junkfood, fastfood,...)
- Get enough sleep.
- Take multivitamins
- Lots of vegetables, salad is an easy way to do this, make your own salads and throw in lots of other fruits and vegetables and never ever EVER use salad dressing, just forget it exists, from now on your best friend is oil and vinegar with a pinch of salt.
- Avoid red meat
- Have meat with every meal (except breakfast, or maybe not) but make sure that you have more vegetables than meat.
- Reduce all of your portion sizes, if you normally eat your meals from a large plate, buy smaller ones so that your small portions seem bigger.
- Drink soy milk instead of milk
Just some tips to keep in mind, the more of those that you use the better.
Or you could just do what wrestlers do when they need to lose 5-10lbs, only you have a month I only had a week.... Put on two sweat pants, a t-shirt, another t-shirt, a long sleeve t-shirt, a sweater and a sweater with a hood, put on your running shoes, pull your hood over your head and tie the hood closed so that your eyes and your nose stick out. Put your fists into your sleeve and close the ends and go for a 30-60min run during the hottest time of the day.

In my humble opinion, you don't need to lose any weight(judging from your myspace picture.)
If your hellbent on it though, you could always become a vegan like myself. I am a 5"11, 19 year old male and weigh 130-ish. Swimming is good. Twizs' suggestion is good if you have a mate. You could also drink alcohol regularly if you drink.
Really though.. it all comes down to diet and exercise. Not so much not eating but what you eat of course. And don't listen to all those diet plans.. they are all bs. EDIT: I was not referring to the post above mine.
You could always remove an organ.

I agree with Patty, doesn't look like you need to lose any weight, but like he said, if you feel you MUST...
The best thing I've found with myself, I'm 6'2, and I try to keep around 175lbs, to do that it's honestly really easy, all you have to do is keep active at least a half hour to an hour a day, I'm talking fast walk, or anything that'll give you a little moisture on your forehead, nothing that's too intense, and eat the healthy stuff. If you look at it and go "damn, I wonder if that's healthy..." then it probably isn't. Only eat the stuff you're sure will benifit your body, forget about eating for taste, instead think about eating for performance. Your body works like a car, if you put the right kind of gas in it, it hauls! But if you put the wrong stuff in it, it runs like crap. If you eat the right stuff, you'll feel ton better throughout the day, and the weight will just fall off. Also, another important thing, make water your primary source of liquids, since it's completely pure, water's like the best thing for your body.
Hope it helped! Welcome to Beast Toast!

wow your the same height and about the same weight as me we should box on a side note yea anthrax (dont feel like l33t) has some good advice, he knows what hes talking about. As for more recommendations, do cardio, dont lift weights. Just keep steady on the treadmill or wherever and drink plenty of water, as well as eat healthy. If you like swimming thats tons of cardio all over your body, so I would highly recommend that as well as cool off cuz of the current weather.

lol yeah, but you got 3 years on me, do you have any fights under your belt?
I might actually be down for something like that, if it was in like an actual fighting environment, and there was a ref and shit like that. haha, I fuckin' love mma!

Well, the only advice I can give you is to become more active and eat healthier. Most of what anthrax applies, as that was the basic plan I was on when I lost weight. I lost 80 pds in 3 months, which is not healthy, but still felt pretty good. Of course, I can still lose more (5'9, between 180-190)
Here are a lot of the changes I made in my life to try keeping fit.
-I only drink Water....nothing else. This has gone on for 6 years now.
-I watch the amount of calories I eat. Keep to a set number and yea.
-Pills help a lot too, especially if you use one of those bogus diets.
Although it doesn't look like a lot, it definitely is. I also have a job that constantly requires me to use my body, as I'm always running for something or lifting stuff onto costumer's cars.
