Old relationship
I was just hoping I could get some quick advice...
I dated this guy probably six years ago. It only lasted a couple months and it wasn't that serious. I didn't really see it going anywhere so I broke up with him. We didn't talk much after that but in the past couple years he'll try and talk to me and say he wants to work things out. I will talk to him only because I don't want to be rude and totally ignore him. Now, he is completely serious about getting together with me and I have told him repeatedly not to expect anything to come out of this. I haven't even seen him for three years. Now he wants to hire me to work for him because I'm having a hard time finding work. It will be great pay and I know he will do anything he can for me. What do I do??? |

personally i would say that you really aren't doing it to get closer to him but because you need the work, that you appriciate the help, and to (out of respect for you) not try anything while you're working for him. also you might want to ask him (and get a real answer out of him) why he wants to get back together with you after so long (there's probably an underlying cause and it would probably be benificial to both of you to find out what it is)

I think if you wanted to, you could do it no problem, I don't think you'd be doing anything wrong exactly, I mean, he's the one that offered. But it looks to me like the only reason he offered in the first place is to hang out with you and get closer to you. But like you said, you've told him a bunch of times how it is, so if he doesn't get the point, then that's his own problem. And who knows, something might even happen between you two, even though you say you don't want it, but then again, you also said he's a great guy who would do anything for you, so I'd say, give it a try...
