not sure how to go about this...

ok this is kind of long so please bare with me.
about a year ago my dog had her first litter of puppies. just to be safe i wanted to take them to the vet. my two friends Kristi and Brandi went with me. Kristi brough over this stroller/cart thing for me to use to put the puppies in. after the vet appointment she told me to just keep it because her kids didnt use it anymore. Brandi was there to witness her saying that. well since i dont have a car i decided to use it to carry my grocceries home. now this cart was a piece of shit to begin with and the wheel was about ready to fall off. but i thought since it was now mine i would use it untill it completly fell apart. two days after i started using it the wheel fell off, however Brandi was able to put it back together using a wire hanger so i could still use it. about a month after that the tire went flat lol but since i was still able to push it around with no problem i continued to use it. about 7 months after that the tubing from the flat tire came out so i used it less but still used it of course. well about that time Kristi's husband comes home from iraq and they come over to show me their new dog. while i was petting the dog i noticed Kristi's husband was eyeballing the cart and had this really mean look on his face. he made a comment about the messed up tire but i didnt think much of it because of it being mine and the fact that it wasnt all that great to begin with. well..about 2 days later i was walking to the store with the cart when i saw Kristi's car drive by, make a U turn and park next to me. Kristi's husband gets out and starts scolding me like a child, saying he was planning on taking it back and that i had better have it fixed. i looked over to see if Kristi would come to my defence but she was avoiding eye contact with me so i laughed it off and walked away. when i got home i decided not to use it anymore untill i could get the tire fixed. i called Brandi and asked if maybe i had heard kristi wrong but she said that i didnt because she even remembers Kristi saying it was mine. well i figured if she was going to be like that then she could take it back once i had it fixed. in my opininon its not worth fighting over. now heres the problem. the cart was stollen -.- i know that eventually i will have to tell Kristi but im not sure how to go about doing it. should i try to get ahold of her on msn or go to her house?? or should i just wait untill i run into her??

Well... that's a little bit screwed up.

I'd say you should contact her now and let her know what happened. If you just wait until you run into her, it might look odd and make her husband flip out more.

Jeez... all this trouble over a broken cart...

I'd say fuck it, don't even bring it up any more. It's your cart, she gave it to you. If her husband asks - tell him you gave it away, or make up some other bullshit. Who steals a cart anyways?!! is it like gold - plated that someone is always trying to have it?! wtf.
and why don't you have a car? just curious... 23 already! well, idk, friends can't take you shopping? wtf is going on.

Erm. I would call her or find some way to tell her instead of just running into her somewhere.
Talk to her about it, say that she gave it to you and she needs to tell her husband/boyfriend that it was her fault you got a hold of it and shit instead of putting that all on you. That isn't a true friend.

yes it is ridiculous but some people are just that childish. and to answer your question Fez i dont have a car here because it cost too much to have it shiped to where i live now. i live on an army base in germany XD

Well if they haven't tried to contact you again about the cart, then I wouldn't even worry about it because it obviously isn't that important.
Don't waste your money on getting it fixed.
