My sons mom

Today my sons mother visited. When I was about to go up to my room and avoid her like I normally do she started a conversation and said "did you think I was just going to let you sneak away?" We ended up just making small talk and played with James. The weird thing is she was nice and even ask if I was avoiding her. I said no and she said "its not like I'm not going to hurt you or anything". She even said I should get a job working with her at sears. That was a little bit strange. I guess I started thinking that maybe I should talk to her and try to be friends. We did talk for a while but just stopped. I don't really know what to say when I am around her. For the most part an uncomfortable silence comes over me. I was thinking that I should try and talk to her. I just need advice on how to do it. I would love it if we could somehow be friends I think...or maybe not. I know this sounds weird to those of you that know about her. Anyway, I just don't know if it would be a good idea to try and be friends with her or how to do it. I think I am somewhat afraid of her.

I wouldn't do it. She'll just hurt you.

you need to sit down and make a list of what you like about her and dont like about her... and really dig deep. once you get to the reason why, work it out within yourself. next time, try to smile to her and compliment her, even if you dont want to. just realize she probably feels uncomfortable too.

Yeah, if I got to close but I am talking about just having a friendly relationship. I do think working with her could be a very bad idea.

You're right, maybe that would be a good way to make us a little more comfortable. I could just make a friendly comment next time I see her. I should have told her how good she was with James this time.

It was really nice to be able to play with James together. The last time I decided to become friends with her again she started being honest about things and it freaked me out again. You might be right Seastone.

I am so confused at the moment.

i don't know anything about either of you, or anything about your situation, but i think you, her, and your son could only benefit from the two of you having a civil relationship.

Well, my family will be very upset if I become friends with her again. I have a lot of people that would not be very happy and for good reasons. I don't know who to talk to about it thats the only reason I got on here to post.
