I'm on steroids...

...seriously, so don't mess with me! Okay, they're not those kind of steroids, but, still...

My doctor prescribed oral Prednisone tablets for a health problem I'm having. I was wondering if anyone knew any tricks...or treats (in honor of the up-coming holiday!) for getting rid of the bitter taste that comes along with taking the pills, or just bitter tastes in general, I guess.

EDIT: unfortunately, i think it's there awhile after i swallow them. have you ever swallowed something, even if it doesn't necessarily touch your tongue, and still have the taste in your mouth later? it's not an "upchuck" thing, i don't think, but...i don't know. i can't think of how to explain it b/c i've only taken the pills once so far. i was wondering if anyone knew about that and how to get rid of that.

Umm...eat them in ice cream? I dunno.

Don't think about the taste....whats not in your mind, cannot affect you....

Take the pills with milk. If you can't drink milk take them with Orange Juice.

Also if they are anything like prednizone whatever you do RESIST CARBS! Not only does prednizone make you want to eat everything but they don't burn the carbs and you put on A LOT of weight.

If a pill tastes nasty I always put the drink in my mouth first, then toss the pill in and swallow. Takes just a tiny bit of talent not to make a mess though, lol.

i tried them w/ milk b/c you're supposed to take them w/ food/milk. that's how i discovered the taste. i thought the milk was sour b/c of it, but i'll try them with OJ.

i read about them briefly and saw that you can put on weight while you're on them. i will only be on them for a few days, so i don't think that'll be a problem, but thanks for the advice!

i've done that in the past w/ other pills. i think it didn't help that i had to take 6 at once, so i probably couldn't resist having them on my tongue, but i might try that... i might make a mess if i'm taking multiple pills at the same time, though!
