It's come time for Gizmo to have a playmate. I've been so busy with working overtime and I'm going to take classes this summer probably, she needs someone to get in some extra playtime on those days when I'm too wore out. Any advice on introducing a new ferret? I've heard I better take her with to pick it out and to not get an unfixed male as he will like drag her around during mating lol and she's not having babies nu uh no way. Other than those two things does anyone have any advice to make the transition smoother?
I don't know much about ferrets...
But I do have rats.
Just in case they have the same reaction, make sure you introduce them to each other in a neutral zone, not in one's cage/house. If you put one on the other's territory, things could get ugly.
as long as you pick a nice ferret there should be no need to bring your ferret with you. just pick a nice one (preferbly smaller and younger for domaninc issues) and btw all ferrets are spayed and nutered b4 there sale bc they breed like rats lol. just as long as you have a good size cage and multiple sleeping areas youll be fine.

Hey thanks, I got one of those cube thingers for their cage as well as another hammock and it looks like there's less of a power struggle for who goes where now. Glad I read that.
He's bigger but the original female still kicked his ass in their initial "who's boss" battle. lol
