internet boxes

i have had a hell of a time dealing with time warner cable.
i had a router box from them for 3 months.
it didn't work for 2.
i've been using my neighbor's wireless internet, but he keeps shutting it off, and i can only use it for a few days, then it stops letting me use it.
some dude just came and took the router box from my apartment today, which stopped my cable as well.
he didn't take any cords or anything.
he left the cable cord there, too.

what i'm asking is if there's a way to get a router box from somewhere and have my internet + cable work without having to go through a cable company?

or is that impossible?
it seemed like there was nothing to it...

I dunno, because you have to pay someone for internet and cable, and that person would be the companies, which I think have to have huge servers and crap that you couldn't just have yourself.

You're probably lucky you're not in jail. Maybe watch for a warrant though.

Easiest way to get cable and internet is to get a job and then go sign up for it. And then when you get a bill in the mail, pay it. Simple as pie.
