i have heard vaguely of it before but i had no idea that the idea had been developed so far. algae as a source of nutrients and protein has been widely discussed in science fiction though. that is what intrigued me in the first place. i am a huge sci fi nerd and have come across the idea before so when i saw a cnn article about it i was psyched. haha

Frankly, I think electricity can give us all the energy we need, we just have to learn how to start generating it more powerfully and for less money. Most of what I've read deeply on the subject shows that most "alternative fuel sources" with the possible exception of hydrogen fusion are mostly a waste of time and money.

My vote is for good old electricity. Break out your kites and keys.
