for a dare a friend made me make a fake profile of a teacher and now I'm in trouble
So a friend of mine said for a dare to pick any one teacher from my school & impersonate them on facebook, I thought it would be funny
To cut things short it was a laugh for a few days when people actually thought it was the teacher. I put realistic information some loser chemistry teacher that no one likes.
but time came by & they knew it wasn't him & so they called the police, some other kid got accidentally framed, I deleted the profile as they were talking to him & trying to scare him off & see if he did it, they have full proof on that part,
on the other hand if the police look it up with the isp they can trace the email, I didnt use it in my house while this happened but from before I might have so I'm worried if something happens, i could get expelled for a random dare...
if they trace the I.P what can happen? How far does it go? I remember changing my I.P occasionally but they probably still have it stored & can trace my house... I didn't mean for trouble, just fun.
58 minutes ago - 3 days left to answer.
there's no picture of him on there just info that reminds of him and half of it is made up like I put vietnam but hes from singapore but students wouldnt really know... and I didnt post messages as him and a made up middle name and misspelt first name, got religion wrong how would that count as impersonation?
could someone say, the profile was made by a similar person, added by a student that told everyone, that added him and so on... and the person got fed up of all these kids posting hi sir, etc.. and deleted the page?
I know for a fact facebook wont do anythign without a court order and to trace a house from IP you need one too so they will be lazy hopefully...
I'm gonna delete the email I used and the profile was already deleted

Well, first off let's just say you're an idiot. Secondly, I don't think anything will come of it. You said some other kid got framed? So what happened to this other kid? If you are not a complete piece of shit, you will come out and admit it was you so this other kid doesn't get in trouble. Letting someone take the fall for what you did is the biggest piece of shit thing someone can do.

rofl, ok so what law did you break? It's 100% legal as far as I know, I'm not a lawyer, but how would that in any way be considered illegal?
Don't worry about it, they don't have shit on you. Even if they knew it was you, it wouldn't be a big deal. Idiots just want to abuse their power over some practical joke...what a bunch of douches.

You still do things on 'dares'? Are you serious.
I'm not aware that this is illegal but it's just plain dumb.
As for some other kid taking the fall, give yourself a pat on the back...I agree with Edge, that's being one of the worst kinds of cowards. If you have the balls to do something and think it's so cute, then stand up and take the recognition.

Its illegal, if my memory doesn't fail me, under the patriot act. Same kind of thing as having a fake ID: impersonation. And yeah man, you are one dumb fuck.

Defamation: Libel and Slander
(from wikipedia)
In law, defamation is the communication of a statement that makes a false claim, expressly stated or implied to be factual, that may harm the reputation of an individual, business, product, group, government or nation. Most jurisdictions allow legal actions, civil and/or criminal, to deter various kinds of defamation and retaliate against criticism.
The common law origins of defamation lie in the torts of slander (harmful statement in a transitory form, especially speech) and libel (harmful statement in a fixed medium, especially writing but also a picture, sign, or electronic broadcast), each of which gives a common law right of action.
"Defamation" is the general term used internationally, and is used in this article where it is not necessary to distinguish between "slander" and "libel". Libel and slander both require publication. The fundamental distinction between libel and slander lies solely in the form in which the defamatory matter is published. If the offending material is published in some fleeting form, as by spoken words or sounds, sign language, gestures and the like, then this is slander. If it is published in more durable form, for example in written words, film, compact disc (CD), DVD, blogging and the like, then it is considered libel.
