Revelation 22:18
"18I warn every person that hears the words of the prophecy* of this book: If a person adds anything to these words, then God will give that person the troubles written about in this book. 19And if any person takes away from the words of this book of prophecy, then God will take away that person's share of the tree of life and of the holy city, which are written about in this book. 20[Jesus is] the One who says that these things are true. Now he says, "Yes, I am coming soon." Amen. Come, Lord Jesus! 21The grace (kindness) of the Lord Jesus be with all people."
My mom showed me this last night. We were having a discussion this verse and she had bought up the fact that alot of preachers and bishops etc are getting into a lot of trouble with the government and such. Supposedly they haven't been reporting all the gifts, offerings that have been received and somebody ratted them out. Well now, the truth about alot of these people have come out, and many have been called false prophets or, are being disbanded. Do you think that there may be some connection?

Could be that, or a million other things.
I think we tend to interpret things depending on what we are facing at the time.
That's the beauty of holy writings, poetry, literature, art, music, and the like. It can be completely new every time you experience them.

Yeah, seen this before.
Unfortunately, this was most definitely added after the bible was already extensively edited.

Also true, and most likely used as a way to rally the destruction and confiscation of documents counter to the one true bible ratified by the Council of Nicea.
Although personally, I think Revelation is one of the most spiritually relevant books in the Bible, as most of the prophecy escaped unscathed as it was disguised as the equal to a modern day sci-fi story, written during a time of persecution.
As for what it means, well, only time (and our implied perspectives) will tell.

I didn't know it was added on after all the extensive editing..I'll have to look into that. I like to study religions, and next on the list is catholicism, Which is of course another form of Christianity. Well, I was just curious if that would mean that all these religions are sinful and truly ridiculous? Each denomination has taken the idea of the bible their own way, and has added or taken away to make it fit there own ideals and truths.

Every religion, and every sect (denomination) has elements of Truth in them. However, the Truth is buried under the flaws of humans own imperfections.
One man's opinion.
As far as Bible corruption goes, there are several good books on the subject.
There's some stuff around on the internet, but it's not very substantial.
I'd say check out amazon.com
