Maybe I'm crazy but...
I want to know if anyone else has noticed this or maybe it's just weird luck.
I was looking at my life and noticed something strange. It seems like when I have a interest in something the topic comes up even around people I don't know more than usual. I mean completely random topics nobody would have talked about at other points in my life. A few examples, when I did drugs the topic would randomly come up even with people I didn't know very well. Now that I am out of that it's rare I even hear about them. When I first got into vampire stuff The topic of vampires came up very frequently with random people that had no idea about my interest in them. I've been into studying religion for a while but before my interest that topic very rarely came up outside of Christianity since I was in a christian school. Now it's quite common that religion or lack of religion topics randomly come up even with people around that would have no clue about my interest in it. Just varous phases of my life seem to work out like that. it's like everything almost conforms to whatever I feel at the time to a point. At least in conversation.
So, the question is does this happen to more people than me and is there a reason for it? Perhaps the thoughts we project in some way can react with other peoples thoughts? The other person my not even know what influenced the thought but two people could be creating conversation topics just by thinking to a point.
That, or really weird stuff happens to me and I'm insane.

You're not insane.
It happens to me too.

Well, I was going to try and figure out why and how but I got my answer. It doesn't seem to happen to everyone. Was trying to get people thinking but I guess this topic failed.

I think it's the simple fact that, now that we're paying attention to a certain subject, we begin to see it everywhere - as if it hadn't existed before.
For instance, when I began to like a certain type of vehicle, I swear it was just everywhere. I was like "wow, people are buying this all of the sudden??"
We tend to drown out the things that aren't of interest to us, so when they finally are of interest, we catch every little thing about them.

Law of Attraction - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
See the link above. I personally believe that it's New Age crap for the most part, largely driven by coincidence in which people notice mentionings of certain topics more when their mind is on it, but I can't prove that assertion any more than anyone can prove this pseudoscientific "Law" that describes the phenomena.

I think that you see more things that lead to that conversation because you are now interested in talking about it, whether you do it conciously or unconsciously.
I also agree about somewhat drowning out what you're not interested in.
This happens everytime I learn a new word. Like, Rist will say some word I've never heard of ( ) so I'll look it up, and I'll see it again that day, though I don't recall seeing it previously.
