Here's a BBC documentary in a few parts that discusses some of the basic outlines of what many think may account for both the gospel stories and the historical evidence of Yeshua (Jesus). This documentary uses science and multiple historical sources to explain the positions.

It's a little more believable, that's for sure. I myself had actually wondered when I last read about Joseph of Arimathea taking aloes into the tomb why they weren't embalming oils like cedar/juniper oil. Certainly myrrh was used as an embalming oil at the time, though. A very expensive one... one of the seven sacred oils.

There's tons of evidence for someone that suits the man known as Yeshua to the Jews in India. It would make sense that the majority of information about him is there if the majority of his life was lived there.

It would also make more sense that there were only stories of word of mouth from very superstitious people to shape the Jewish perception of him.

Also, I read an article somewhere that the shroud of turin could be authentic, and it had some medical evidence that he could of sweat the poison out that made him appear dead on the cross and it would have left the marks on shroud.

My only question now is the spear in the side. Medically, blood mixed with water would denote they had pierced the pericardium sac surrounding the heart.

Can one survive this? The fact that they missed the heart while piercing the sac would seem miraculous in it's own right though.

Surgery back then wasn't quite as barbaric as you think. They could do complex cataract surgery at that time. In fact, most medical knowledge was retained by specialists within desert cultures when the Dark Ages descended on Europe, and the reason so many procedures we know today are documented under Arabian names is because the Europeans had to re-learn them from such people.

Also, I remember hearing somewhere that the Buddhists called Jesus "St. Issa". I think I heard the name "Issa" in one of those videos.

I know Muslims refer to him as St. Issa. Perhaps Buddhists too. Historians who believe this say he adopted the name Yuz Asaf in India (which would most likey be the Indian name for Yeshua/Joshua).

I didn't even assume surgery. I just thought it might be possible to survive such trauma as a burst sac around your heart.
