Auras

I have heard a lot about it but I don't know very much on the subject and I am very curious. Does anyone know anything about auras? Do you believe they exist or not? Why/why not?

In my massage therapy class we talked about a technique called "aura stroking," or "ethereal body massage," and it piqued my interests. It has to do with circulating the flow in the energy field that surrounds people to help bring it into balance. And also using your own to affect others wellbeing and a technique called "aura fluffing."

I can see my aura if I really concentrate on it....but by that point I'm not sure if it's just my eyes playing tricks on my or if I'm actually seeing it. It's a thin white outline a couple of centimeters out from my skin.

there was this kid my mum knew once who claimed to see aurors or somethign along those lines, he could see like a layer of colour arround people, but the colours he could see changed depending on mood etc, also if someone placed their warm hand on an object for a couple of minutes then removed it while he wasnt looking he could tell where their hand had been,

I have a Wiccan friend who read my aura once. It took her a while to find it because mine is pretty big (which, according to her, indicates that I am pretty powerful XD), and she was looking for the edges. She evidently briefly also saw my true face, which I thought was interesting. After that we went on to Tarot cards.

I have since learned from her that what she told me during that reading was actually supposed to stay between her and I, so I shan't repeat the rest of the story as I have before, if only as courtesy to her.

That sounds a lot like Healing Touch and things of that nature..thats turning into a pretty popular thing among hospital nurses nowadays. Theres been studies that show that it seems to work whether or not the patient even believes in whats being done, or knows about it at all. In one study they performed healing touch on, i think it was people with hand/arm burns or something like that, and they had the persons arm behind a curtain, so the patient couldnt tell whether anyone was actually doing healing touch or not (since usually healing touch doesnt actually touch the person) and the people who had had it done had their wounds heal faster than the others.

I think I can see my philosphy teacher's aura pretty well for some reason, but other people are harder and usually i get a headache from having my eyes at a weird unfocused/focusedness.

One Healing Touch therapist came to my class in January and actually worked on one of my classmates, and she said that she felt much better afterwards.

That is fascinating... Any idea where I could find such studies? I've never really been able to actually see auras before but I am extremely sensitive to energy around me. I think I may experiment with it whenever I start my hands on training.

I've always been able to see faint hues of color surrounding the people who are close to me, some more prominent than others, depending on how well/long I've known them. I haven't looked too deeply into it, although I should really get on that. I went to a psychic a few weeks ago who said it was normal for me, because I've been a true Wiccan at heart for years, and I'm very intune to other people's emotions.

theres one pretty useful page, just do research on 'healing touch' 'therapeutic touch' and other energy therapies. if you want you can also start looking up auras, energy fields, and chakras.

like most alternative medicine practices however, there is a need for more studies to be done.

That sounds like my position. I believe they are related but I could be wrong. It may be an actual energy field permeating the body that has nothing to do with emotions. Not saying that it can't affect emotions, exactly the opposite. Like a whole different body system working in balance with all the others.
