Adoption vs. reproduction

I wanted to find out what everyone thinks about adoption compared to having your own children. I don't think I would have anymore kids but I might adopt later on if I can support another child. I know I wont have more than two total though. In my opinion I wouldn't want to bring another child into this world the way it is right now. I wouldn't have a problem raising a child that was already here though.

I love the idea of adoption! I have always wanted to at least have one of my own and then have an adopted child. I agree about the 2 as well lol. I don't think I could handle more than that. Anyways, I feel that the human population is massive already... I don't need to add another to the mix. I have my blood in a boy, I can help raise another... If ever

I'm still debating the idea of having a child of my own. There's something about it that I'm a little bit drawn to, but the whole pregnancy aspect kind of turns me away from the idea. Obviously, if it happened I'd deal with... but I'm still not sure if I'll ever want to specifically try for one.
I definitely want to adopt eventually though. No doubt about that. I'd love to save a child that's already stuck in the world, especially from a different country.

I'd love to adopt a kid, and I kind of do want to have one of my own as well...I have absolutely no fear of raising a child either. I completely adore kids.

Adoption is awesome, but the reality is most kids going through foster parents and being adopted are dealing with tough lives and have some pretty severe issues parents will have to face while raising them.

Kids take patience, but these kids take even more patience, and a special kind of understanding not everyone has.

I would encourage anyone to do it, but just know what you are getting yourself into.

As far as adopting babies from other countries goes, that's well and good, but there are waiting lists for those, while there are tons of kids right here right now who could use a good home and family to support them and raise them. I would encourage people to adopt older kids as well as the cute little babies (who will still be little assholes through puberty).

I work with a lot of kids who end up in adoption and foster family programs. They really do increase a kids chance of success after they're done in a residential program or partial program.

I'm all for foreign baby adoption though. I just know a lot of people don't think about how many kids there are who need a family.

I want at least one blood baby...then I would gladly adopt a baby/child. I think it is one of the great things about gay couples that want kids...they normally have to adopt and give a child a home...it makes me happy!

I don't like the idea of adoption...I'd rather have a child of my own. I mean it's nice of people to do and all, but it just doesn't sound appealing.

I've raised other people's kids before, when I worked at a daycare (and yes, 'raised' is appropriate, because the kids would be there from 6:30 in the morning--before we're even technically OPEN--to 6:30 at night...and the only time they'd get food or a bath is when they were with us). And aside from a child with mental problems or those ones who's nature was bad before their home situation came into play, you can usually redeem the kids and work through the problems--especially if you get them while they're young.

I'd love to have kids! I do want one of my own, but I don't know about the whole pregnancy thing. I might be a little too small for that, but I don't really know.
I'd also love to adopt.

You'd probably have to be a C-section, Kelley...especially if the daddy is a big guy...
