Uti

Right so I have recently come to the conclusion that I have a urinary tract infection. I know this because I started having to go to bathroom every hour, sometimes more. I talked to my mom and she says to drink cranberry juice. Pure cranberry juice, not the cocktail juice.

So Ian buys 4 huge jugs of cranberry juice. I have been drinking a lot of it. I'm not worried about going to the doctor since I already know whats wrong and how to fix it, but I do want to know how long it will last.

You see, it really is crap timing to be on a period while having UTI. But not as bad as being on a period while having mono and suffering from hives all over. That was torture.

So yeah, I guess just how long do I have to deal with it?

"As an at-home treatment, increased water-intake, frequent voiding, the avoidance of sugars and sugary foods, drinking unsweetened cranberry juice, taking cranberry supplements, as well as taking vitamin C with the last meal of the day can shorten the time duration of the infection. Sugars and alcohol can feed the bacteria causing the infection, and worsen pain and other symptoms. Vitamin C at night raises the acidity of the urine, which retards the growth of bacteria in the urinary tract."

Urinary tract infection - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

It can probably last anywhere from a few days to a week, near as I can figure, depending how well you treat it...doctors usually perscribe 3-day antibiotics.

Well I haven't suffered from delerium and fevers.
It's getting much better though. I'm not going to the bathroom 3 times every hour.

Thank you cranberry juice.

i had a uti and it got to the point to where i was peeing every 5 minutes. i actually peed, and started smoking a cig right after, and halfway done with it, i thought i was going to pee myself! and i didn't WANT to pee cause it hurt...needless to say i went home (i was at work) and took a bunch of cranberry pills and drank a crapload of cranberry juice and water...and within the hour i was so much better (not completely, but i could go a lot longer without having to pee). i don't remember ever having a UTI longer than a day or so after i started drinking cranberry juice. you might wanna go to the doctor if it is longer than that..my friend had a UTI that turned into a kidney infection...
