I wear whatever the hell I want and I don't give two shits what anyone says. I rarely dress up.

I won't deny that as of seventh to around ninth grade, I was exactly like everyone else here. Looking in my closet was like looking in a black hole, the only accessories I ever wore were my Batman and Superman wristbands, and you'd rarely ever see me without a ridiculously large jacket that I held onto like a security blanket just because it was my "brother's" who'd gone off to Ol' Miss, the military academy, or something. I had shirts that said shit like, "I used to have superhuman powers, but my therapist took them away", ran around wearing neon colors and black everything, ranting and raving, and generally just being obnoxious.

Weird how I can't stand those people anymore. I suppose it's the people who remind you the most about yourself that you loathe the most.

Once I got to high school, my sister forced me into changing how I dressed. I resented it, but quickly got over it since I could still incorporate my all-black collection of t-shirts. I started out in a kind of in-between phase in freshman year, hitting a more preppy look at the end, but still with a large portion of my wardrobe being black and grey. Sophomore year, I basically became an Urban Outfitters ad campaign. Practically all of my clothes came from there.

Now, I've hit a place where I'd rather make my own clothes than get retail. If I had the money, I'd be hitting places like Burberry, Calvin Klein, and Yves Saint Laurent. Unfortunately, I'm not six feet tall, and I don't have multiple thousands I can throw down for a peacoat. I guess you might say I'm a bit of a fashion bandwagonner, and I won't deny that; I have ridiculously expensive tastes, and probably seem ridiculously shallow and pretentious to everyone else right now just because I'd rather wear a thousand dollar mélange knit scarf than run around in chains and piercings all day, but that's just the way I am. I'm probably never going to be able to afford these things, and don't expect to, but if given the chance, I would never go back to how I used to dress.

My roommate regularly comments on my colour coordination. Or lack thereof. He doesn't seem to realize that I'm colourblind, and don't give a shit.

Seriously, why does it matter how you dress? I have no interest in fashion to be criticized, so why bother criticizing?

Well, it simply varies from person ro person, Rist. It's all opinion. Needless to say, I don't stick to a particular "fashion interest". If I like the colors/design of something, then I'll wear it. I've received negative feedback from people who didn't agree with what I've worn before. But in that case, I'm not effected because I dress however the fuck I want to, regardless of what someone else has to say about it.
