I dont know about this one, it could even be a song.
Wake Up
Wake up…
Hinder your blindness…
Wake up…
Wake up to your condescending nation!
Wake up to the warfare of tomorrow!
Wake up to oblivious assumption!
Wake up to depression and the sorrow!
Open your eyes to the real…
Wake up, and wake up now!
Your job here is to kneel (before the power)…
Wake up, and wake up to bow!
Now Bow!
Bow to the rich and the famous!
Bow to the dead that remain!
Bow to the churches that will save us!
Bow to the politically insane!
Now I shut my eyes to delusions…
Close them; ignore and put up a wall.
Wish to sleep away these intrusions…
Ignorance will triumph over all.
To me, the poem means that I tried to make myself look deeper into things. To understand my surroundings, and the truth about societys grip over our minds. But then I started to wish ignorance upon myself. As the saying goes, "Ignorance is bliss."
