Lighting is Everything
Lighting is Everything
I had not seen the dusted daylight enter the room before
it was not what I had expected
(lighting is everything)
a color which reminded me of my morning coffee
covered the walls
(I like my coffee the way I like my men)
it was not what I had expected
very unlike picture I had so diligently schemed
as the browning mattress springs sang their raspy
(not to mention off key)
lullaby
rocking us to sinful sleep
crud encrusted dishes which covered every surface
or
the clutter of used and crumpled receipt paper
or
the writhing pile of clothes, which wrestled with the dishes
hiding treasures
(or mice)
does he think them clean or dirty?
the patches of visible carpet
another mystery
thick yes
with grime?
indiscernible truth
the vomit colored
discount bin drop out
deliciously clashes
with the unexpected sheets
(that he has already vacated)
red
soft
(had he expected more then me?)
stretch, sit up, slow movement
seeing his eyes
as I never expected.

You are aesthetically pleasing,
the reason for which I first noticed in you.
And later I found your personality equally pleasing.
I also noted your chest to waist ratio is suitable for birthing.
Therefore, I think you should live in my house.
