I saw the preview for that while seeing The Dark Knight. Why am I talking about that instead of The Dark Knight? Well, because The Terminator series is just about my favorite series of all-time. If you must know, yes, The Dark Knight was AMAZING, and the character balance in it was simply perfect, and, of course, Heath Ledger's performance was one of legend. I enjoyed it completely and have zero complaints, and I definitely intend to own the movie.
But Terminator 4....I got the chills from the seeing the preview. The fact that the story is FINALLY getting into the actual war of man vs. machine is awesome. If you follow the series and saw Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, then you know that the twist was that Judgement Day and the war could never be stopped; only postponed, and then the world was destroyed in a nuclear holocaust.
Terminator 4 is the continuation of the story and will star Christian Bale as "John Connor", the son of Sarah Connor and supposed savior of humankind, as told by people sent from the future to the past to save him. Terminator: Salvation will finally get into the actual war. THE WAR!!! The thing in which they were trying to stop from happening in the past 3 Terminator movies! The world was destroyed by a nuclear assault which was initiated by a collective A.I. entity that manifested itself within the collection of the worlds computers and their networks. It then spread onto the worlds "smartest computer", known as "Skynet", and then took control of the planets nuclear stockpile ad cyberweapons.
John Connor, his lieutenants, and a small percentage of humankind were able to find shelter and survive the nuclear fallout in multiple government installations. What happens next? Well...I guess we'll find out in Terminator: Salvation. Which you'd all better go see as soon as it comes out.

My favorite Terminator movie of ALL TIME is T2: Judgment Day (actually, that's one of my favorite movies ever), my father took me to see it when I was four years old. 3 wasn't no where near as good as two...but this one is probably gonna be hardcore. Especially since John technically has a heads up on almost everything that Skynet will do thanks to the Terminators telling him just about everything...

Yeah two was definitely good. But I did like 3 better.
The reason I loved 3 so much is because of the awesome twist. The fact that judgement day DID come and that the war was gonna happen was simply awesome.

Personally, I think a crazier twist would have been John Connor actually dying, and the girl he was with becoming the real leader of the resistance...and just saying that John Connor was the mastermind behind everything when it was her...which would be why Skynet could never capture or kill John Connor--cuz he was already dead.

Eh, I suppose...but then again it would kind of take away meaning from all the past terminator movies, ya know? The fact that he was "dead anyway"...I don't know, it would feel like sort of a loss to me.
I guess another good twist is that we know John Connor DOES die. If you remember, the Terminator sent back to John in T3 was actually sent by his lieutenant (who happens to be the girl he was with) - after it killed John in the future.
So he does die, but yeah, in the future.

Have you read any of the Terminator books? T2: Infiltrator inspired the TX model...I think they should've used that book for T3, that's why I was kind of disappointed with the third one. Skynet sent back this cyborg human to make sure that Skynet would be built instead of simply hunting down John...she was even able to manufacture low-level versions of T-800s.

I've read most of the other stories online, which are good, by the way.
They could've done that, but then again, the whole idea is that judgement day is "going to happen anyways", it's inevitable, so the machines have don't have to worry about Skynet being built. I think they understand this better than any human ever did; until it was too late, of course. So what better way to stop the humans from succeeding than to hunt down Johns lieutenants?

But the future can be changed by the past. We're dealing with time travel here, not just a man versus machine war. The possibilities are endless.
John supposedly gets killed in the future...well why not send a reprogrammed terminator, or better yet, a human soldier, back just prior to his death to stop him from dying? Or right when the humans are about to win the war, why can't the machines send something prior to the end to stop their demise? I'm thinking too hard now at such an ungodly hour in the morning. I need sleep. Lol. We'll chat more about this later, Opu. But until then - I don't know, but goodnight!
