The Halo Movie

I heard Peter Jackson was going to be making the Halo movie to be released in 2008 or 2009, but I keep hearing other things.
I just tried to look it up on Wiki but it doesn't really tell me much.

I heard that Jackson dropped out of it because he said that if anyone made the Halo movie it would have to be REALLY good and REALLY accurate because of how hardcore the fans are.
Honestly, I thought he would have done a good job but I completely see where he is coming from on this [if it is true.]

It's easy to mess a movie up if it is based on a comic or a book because most people [but the ones who actually read them] won't criticize it at all because the movie was 'cool' to them, but then there are people, like me, who think that the SpiderMan movies sucked along with many others. X-men was off by a lot but people still loved it and the new Batman movies are bringing everyone in as well.

...but when it comes to Halo there are SO many people who play it on a daily basis and know EVERYTHING about it. Halo fans are some 'hard core' fans and will be pissed if anything gets fucked up in the movie.

I am not sure if this Jackson dropping out thing is true or not but I was looking forward to the Halo movie but his statement is so true. If I had that pressure put on me, I wouldn't want to do it either.

I--like many other hardcore, yet sane, fans of comics--don't get angry when the movie doesn't get the characters down exactly 100% true to the comics, as long as you don't corrupt the characters' personalities correct, how they would and wouldn't act in a certain situation, and their overall plot right...for example: while they got the role of Peter Parker down perfectly for the Spider-Man movies, they did not get his corny jokes and quip-side of his personality down...only ONE joke was cracked in the first movie, and that was when Peter was fighting the wrestler. I don't remember one in the second...and I've yet to see the third.

I am the same way when it comes to that too. I understand that they have to build some kind of story to make the movie at which everyone can enjoy it.

I don't know much about Halo though, but honestly? I'd be interested in seeing it, I'd love to see a good sci-fi army movie right now.

Yea. I think that it would be awesome, it's just that I would be scared to make that movie too because I personally know how big that fan base is.

When you get on to play Halo, it shows you how many people are playing all over the world on the map and in numbers and that shit is crazy.

That's why they should get a director willing to work with the WRITERS of the Halo plot, to convert it to a movie script. How hard is it for people to do that?

I don't know. I don't know that much about writing movies or anything, I just know when to bitch and when not to bitch about them.

I just really want him to do this. It would make me happy.

Yeah, and if anyone could make a trilogy, it's Peter Jackson. He shouldn't be daunted though, didn't LotR have a large fanbase?

Eh...I think it had more of a fan base after the real time movies were released.

lol, I think I read them JUST before the movies came out, so yeah...that's a possiblity.
