Baseball Trivia

Hazing Reality is offline
In honor of the new season approaching...lets do some trivia, lets start with something fairly simple...

What team were the Washington Senators, before they became the Senators? (city and team name please)

after answer do your own trivia question...or just answer and I'll do another one (knows a lot of unimportant baseball facts)

Alright, gotta answer my own question: Montreal Expos...

Here is an easier one (Even though I know no one cares...I'll continue to post, cause baseball rocks and it raises my posts anyways)

There are two different leagues in the MLB; what are they are what is the major difference between the two leagues?

CORRECT! Well, it is the MAIN difference anyways...

AL: 14 teams
NL: 16 teams

World Series wins: AL-58 NL-41
All Star Games: NL 49 AL-31
One year it ended in a tie.... WHAT YEAR? (question 1)

Also, the NL was the first league to have a black player, Jackie Robinson (everyone knows this) but.... (question 2) what year did he start and for what team?

A few months after Robinson came to the NL, there was a black player in the AL... (question 3) what was his name and what team did he play for?

And for the DH... (question 4) who was the first DH hitter to play in a major league game (name, year, team)...

jackie robinson... wasnt his nig league debut... 1947 for the brooklyn dodgers? but i do remember hearing in 46 he was assigned to the royals first right?

the 2nd... Larry Doby? & the cleavland indians i think? not too sure

the DH im not too sure abt this one but was it Ron Blomberg? im going to guess early 70's for the Yankees?

First, I hope you meant to say "big league debut"... and yes he was assigned to the Montreal Royals in the International League and then came up to the Major League in 47 for the Dodgers.

1) Whitey Ford~ 10 wins
2) Don't know that one, but Randy Johnson has 5 consecutive 300 strikeout seasons... and him and Nolan Ryan both have six 300 strikeout seasons under their belt. So.... Randy Johnson and Nolan Ryan?
3)Nolan Ryan
4)Roger Clemens...

So, for my questions...
1)Who was the first left handed pitcher to earn the Cy Young award?
2)Who was the oldest pitcher to earn the Cy Young award?
3)Who was the first relief pitcher to earn the Cy Young award?

Where are you at, Haze???
