Xenosaga

So I started playing Xenosaga Episode I about a week or two ago. I had owned the game for quite a while now, but I had never actually played more than like 2 hours, and the hours that I did play I found it a little difficult and boring, the battle system. Well come again I restart playing it from the beginning, and man oh man was it a change. Not only did I manage to actually learn the battle system better, I was immediately hooked on it. In fact I still kept learning more and more of the battle system as I progressed in the game. Man that game has like a deep battle system, I loved it. So right now I am hooked on it like crazy. I didnt actually have the intention of buying the whole series, but once I got into it, I caved and bought the whole thing. It was too good to resist. Anybody played the series? Anything you like/dislike about the games?

Man was I disappointed in that series. Don't get me wrong, the only RPG that rivals FF6's superiority is the first iteration of Xenosaga, Xenogears (PS1), but the PS2 fleshing out really took the wind out of it for me.

I loved the first one. I never played the second or third. Xenogears is better than Xenosaga, but I loved that game. The battling got kind of tedious towards the end of the game, but I still thoroughly enjoyed it. The story was great.

No lie, the CCG (customizable card game for the nerd impaired) was one of my favorite parts of the game. It wasnt super complex, but it did provide enough variety to keep me from beating the game for about a week while I made different decks to try.

Yeah, wait till you play the card game. It is fun as hell. ESECIALLY if you have a friend to play against and you both have decks.

I never played the second or third games. I heard that the second one sucked, albeit an improvement in graphics and battle system (I liked the graphics from the first one). I don't remember hearing anything about the third one. Let us know how it is.

You don't really play those games, you watch them.

Hahahahaha so true. Namco's answer to Metal Gear Solid.

At least the story kept me engaged.

I havent given the card game a try, but I might just try it out. Ive heard that the third one was as good as the first one. Xenogears was just pure awesome, I loved that game, hell the story had me confused up until almost the end when everything was revealed and made sense. I wish they remake Xenogears, that would be awesome. Rofl its so true, the comparisons between this one and Metal Gear Solid, you keep watching like these 30 min cut scenes loln

Gotta admit though, the story was pretty good...

I never tried the CCG...kind of surprising I never heard of it...

Looks like I got something to google for.

No no no the CCG was in the game. You played it at save points I think. It's been too long since I've pulled that one out.

My PS2 died though, so I have to wait to save and buy a PS3 to play any of those games again.
