PS3, Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii? Which is for you?

With the upcoming release of the Sony PS3 on 11/17/06 and Nintendo Wii on 11/6/06, and the recent release of the Microsoft Xbox 360, there has been a lot of hype about Next Generation systems, games, and what to expect from them. What are your opinions? Are they asking too much? What new features are, or aren't you looking forward to? Any launch titles catch your eye?

Here is a brief synopsis:

Sony Playstation 3:

-To be released on November 17, 2006.
-Will be priced at $499 for the 20GB configuration and $599 for the 60GB
configuration. These will be the ONLY differences in configuration.
-Will be backwards compatible for both Playstation 1 and 2 games.
-Motion Sensitive controller.

Microsoft Xbox 360:

-Already released.
-Priced at $299 for the core system including only one wired controller, and $399 for the
version that includes a 20GB hard drive, one wireless controller, a headset, and remote.

Nintendo Wii:

-Expected to be released on November 6, 2006
-Expected to cost no more than $250. Only one configuration will be available.
-Controller types include motion sensitive, wireless "Wii-mote/Nunchuck" combination,
Classic style, GameCube controller, and Light Gun.

On paper, the PS3 is the most powerful of the three, followed by the 360 and lastly the Wii. However, Sony offers the most expensive console to be followed by the 360 and Wii respectively. I personally await the Playstation 3, as I am, and always have been a diehard Sony fan, but with its astronomical price tag I sincerely hope I'll get what I pay for. I simply never got into Xbox or the 360, but, for the sake of keeping a relatively open mind I plan to pick up a 360 once I get the chance, and as for the Wii, well... It seems a little too outlandish to me, not to mention I've found Nintendo's offerings of late to be a shade to juvenile for my taste. I hope this has been helpful to anybody who is interested. Enough of me though, I'm interested to hear what you think.

I would have to say nintendo wii, simply because of Zelda.

Wow Link...never took you for a Zelda fan...lol...I totally agree with Chad. I think the PS3 is gonna shame the 360. BUT...we can't know for sure until it comes out. I'm still leaning towards a 360 ass-whoopin.

I got an Xbox purely for Halo. I have since found other games I prefer on consoles as opposed to PCs (like Jade Empire). I have purchased an Xbox 360, not really interested in a PS3 or Nintendo, so I'd say 360 for me.

I want a 360 simply for Halo 3.
...but before I even thinking about getting a 360, I am getting the PS3.

I have a 360 now and I still play my PS2 more simply because the 360 doesn't have a very many games out that I think are that great. I want to get a PS3 though at some point just for the Final Fantasy games. Whatever console has FF will be the one I lean to the most.

I was thinking along the same lines Darknight. Apart from the Final Fantasy series, I'm looking forward to Metal Gear Solid 4 and Devil May Cry 4. Then there are the new Killzone, Tekken and Gran Turismo installments. The Warhawk and I-8 trailers looked cool too. PS3 for me.

Personaly I think the PS3 is gonna be pwnsouce. I'm a little biased though because i have a strong disliking of microsoft...even though that didn't stop me from buying a xbox when halo 2 came out. I was pretty happy with the game for a while but all the little kids on xbox live drove me crazy and ended up killing the game for me so there is no way the next halo will drive me to throw away anouther 300 bucks for a 360.
