MS to make it up to Live members for troubles...

MS has announced the free XBLive game "Undertow" as compensation for downtime grief. Free download is available next Wednesday, January 23rd.

So, anyone who's been on live in the past few weeks knows that the service has been less-than-stellar. With problems like being booted from Live, major lag, and no matches being able to be found, a lot of people have been pissed. Including me. MS will make amends of sorts:

Will-do. I played Halo 3 today with absolutely no problems. I was able to find matches very quickly with minimal lag. Hopefully they're getting everything fixed...

Eh, yeah, after 7ish I had no problems. But before...waiting an hour for a game is fun.

All I can say is this is great news for me, a free game from XBLA

As I use my Live account for nothing more then XNA development, I didn't experience any of the said problems with lag, though I can only imagine how bad this may have gotten with everyone out on winter break. . .
