Ehhh, funky.

I like some DC comics characters, and I like some Mortal Kombat characters, but a clash of their respective universes is hardly hardening. In my pants.

Meaning it leaves me soft.

Er...

My point is that this doesn't seem like a good idea. It's actually, well, kind of weird, in my opinion.

I don't think it's a good idea either. Aside from Batman (aside from his ability to never be beaten), all of DC's "iconic" characters are demigods...

That's why Marvel vs Capcom games worked, most--almost all--of their high-profile characters are "street-level" characters (Spider-Man, Captain America, Cable, Wolverine, Cyclops), so the SF characters had a chance.

Indeed. Balance needs to be found somewhere.

Maybe a certain balance can be found within MK vs. DC realm, but something just tips the scales in an odd way here...

Seriously, look at the characters:

The Flash -- Moves at the speed of light...or faster.
Green Lantern -- Can make ANYTHING just by thinking it. His only real weakness these days is the 24-hour limit on the ring's charge...and I think they might have done away with that as well.
Wonder Woman -- Basically a magically-powered Superman
Martian Manhunter -- An telepathic alien with strength that (sometimes, depending on the writer) rivals Superman's.
Batman -- He DOES have a superpower--never losing. Ever. His one real loss is when he got his spine broken by Bane...and he got better within months.
Superman -- What can Superman NOT do? Except...you know...beat Batman. Let's see...he can withstand nuclear explosions, fly through space without needing oxygen. Can BREATHE on you and kill you, can STARE at you and kill you...and, oh yeah, THROW YOU INTO THE FREAKIN' SUN.
